One-Punch Manhas been one of the most successful shonen hits in the past few years. While the manga already had a prominent fanbase before the release of the anime, the franchise became a hit after the series debuted on Netflix.
With a satirical tone and great animation,One-Punch Maneven managed to attract the attention of people who don’t usually watch anime. Although it was not the first anime to become a hit on Netflix, it probably played a pivotal role in catching the service’s attention to the commercial potential of this niche.
One-Punch Man Creator Shares Comments on Season 3
The official VIZ Media account on X (formerly Twitter) has recently shared a post containing comments fromOne-Punch Mancreator ONE about the upcoming season, scheduled to be released in October 2025. He basically stated that he is excited for the new season and thanked the production team. However, ONE mentions that the team is “bringing the spirit of the original manga to life and shaping it into a mesmerizing storyline that is unique to the anime.” While itseems more like ONE is just referring to the production adapting the story into a new medium, turning it into something unique, some fans are afraid that this line actually means that the anime will contain filler content, and it has sparked some discussion among fans.
Additionally, VIZ also dropped Yusuke Murata’s comments on the next season, and he doesn’t seem to suggest that the anime will feature filler content.
Perhaps if another author had dropped a similar note about another anime, it wouldn’t have caused any controversy among fans. That’s because fans have beenskeptical aboutOne-Punch Man Season 3for a while. The new season will premiere in about three months, and the only trailer that was revealed didn’t match expectations—in fact, it was later revealed that only one animator worked on it, making fans even more worried. Given that fans generally disliked the animation quality ofSeason 2, they are afraid that the new episodes will repeat history or even be worse thanSeason 2.
If we do, we can’t talk about it. But, honestly, I haven’t gotten any calls about it, so… I don’t know when it’s happening, but… I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.

Furthermore, there have been many rumorsabout production issues with the series. It isn’t even confirmed if the previous staff members are returning to the series, as no information on staff members has been revealed. Unfortunately, for now, they can’t do much but wait for official information to drop and check what the production team is up to in this new season.
