With such a strong lineup, it’seasy to see why the Rocks Pirates were so dominant. The crew was filled to the brim with extraordinary fighters, who were almost unstoppable in battle. As their captain, Rocks was obviously the strongest. It wouldn’t make sense for such a strong crew to obey someone who was weaker than them.
Rocks' name struck fear into the hearts of people throughout the world. He was known as a callous individual who attacked anyone that offended him. He had the same attitude towards children as evidenced by his treatment towards Loki.
Rocks D. Xebec Was Arguably As Strong As Joyboy
Rocks Was The Most Powerful Individual From The Old Era
Presently, it is unclear what types of Haki Rocks D. Xebec had. But it’s safe to assume that Rocks had all three kinds of Haki. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be as strong as he was. Rocks likely mastered the use of all Haki types, meaning he could use the Advanced versions as well.
Rocks has yet to be confirmed as a Devil Fruit user, but it is unwise to rule out the possibility. Considering Roger had to team up with Garp to beat Rocks, it’s safe to say that the latter was likely armed with a powerful Devil Fruit.
By combining Haki and his Devil Fruit, Rocks D. Xebec reached Joyboy’s level. Rocks was even able to kill an Admiral, which is one of the biggest feats to date in One Piece. Even the strongest characters from the current and the bygone eras have failed to match this particular feat. As the flashback continues, it’s likely that fans will learn more about Rocks and what other characters he fought against.
Luffy And Blackbeard Might Surpass Rocks D. Xebec
At the moment, Rocks D. Xebec is by far the strongest member of the D family. However, it is inevitable that he will be surpassed by other characters. The two individuals most likely to surpass Rocks are Monkey D. Luffy and Marshall D. Teach. Luffy is the main protagonist who holds the power of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, aMythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows himto transform into the Sun God. Luffy can also use three types of Haki, and he has even unlocked the advanced variants.
On the other hand, Blackbeard has not one but two Devil Fruits. One of them is the Yami Yami no Mi, and the other is the Gura Gura no Mi. With the latter, he can create powerful tremors that can level an island. The Yami Yami no Mi can nullify the abilities of other Devil Fruits, which gives Blackbeard a massive edge over his opponents. Blackbeard can also utilize two types of Haki in combat. Furthermore, he is considered by many fans to be the final villain of One Piece, so it makes sense for him to be stronger than anyone from the older generation.
Both these characters have a high ceiling, so it’scompletely possible for them to overtake Rocks D. Xebecand even Joyboy. Obviously, Luffy and Blackbeard still have to improve before they supplant Rocks, but given their trajectory, it won’t take too long.
