One Piecehas a massive cast of characters. Oda has created a series with such a diverse cast that it is impossible not to find a favorite. The author has worked tirelessly to give them unique personalities and fighting styles.
Swordsmanship is a common fighting style in One Piece. A lot of powerful characters have been seen carrying swords, which they use in fights. An easy way to judge such characters is by taking a look at their blades. Those who possess black blades are considered the crème de la crème. Oda has only introduced a handful of such individuals because he doesn’t want to go overboard. However, he may have revealed a new character who possesses a black blade.
Rocks D. Xebec Was A Black Sword User
Rocks Was Better Than Dracule Mihawk
Rocks D. Xebec has been mentioned several times throughout the story, but he onlymade his proper debut in the Elbaf arc. Rocks was introduced as a part of Harald’s flashback. The two met each other in Marijoa during the Reverie. Both were on the run, but they still used their weapons to attack each other, which resulted in a massive explosion. The sheer force of the clash demolished everything within a radius of five kilometers. Several years after the incident, Rocks traveled to Elbaf to recruit Harald, who turned him down every single time.
Aside from revealing Rocks' goals, the flashback also included new details about his fighting style. It has been confirmed that Rocks primarily used a sword to fight. In fact, his swordsmanship was of the highest order. According to the newly disclosed information, Rocks' sword attacks were said to be comparable to a giant hammer strike or a cannonball. He even destroyed the Gates of Justice with his attacks, which is a huge testament to his skill.
Rocks also killed an Admiral in Marijoa, and it’s likely that he used his sword in the fight. Given Rocks' experience with the sword, it’s plausible to assume that at some point he turned it into a black blade. It’s only conjecture at this point, but there’s little reason to doubt that he couldn’t have done it. As the flashback continues, Oda is bound to disclose more details about Rocks D. Xebec.
Rocks D. Xebec Was The Greatest Pirate Of His Time
Rocks Was The Strongest Pirate In The World
The more fans see Rocks, the more they are in awe of his life. So far, Rocks is the only pirate in One Piece who hassuccessfully killed a Marine Admiral. This could easily be the highlight of any pirate’s career, but that’s not the case for Rocks. The captain of the Rocks Pirates invaded Marijoa during the Reverie, when the security was the tightest, and somehow kidnapped five kings. He then proceeded to enter the Chamber of Flowers, Imu’s abode, and threatened the ruler of the world.
I will be back…right here. —Rocks D. Xebec
Let’s not forget that Rocks also went to God Valley, where he attacked the Celestial Dragons. It’s likely that he wouldhave gotten away if Roger andGarp had not banded together. It’s quite apparent that nobody else in One Piece has come close to what Rocks has done. He was a cut above everyone else and was easily the greatest pirate of his era.
What Was Rocks D. Xebec’s Goal?
Rocks Likely Wanted To Rule The World
Judging from the conversation with Imu, it seems that Rocks wanted to remove the former from power and become the ruler of the world. He certainly didn’t have noble intentions, but it’s hard to argue that he would have done aworse job than Imu and the World Government.
So far, the flashback has been incredible, and fans can’t wait to see what else Oda has in store for them. Thankfully, the One Piece manga is returning from a short break, and it will release a new chapter on June 19, 2025. The chapter will be available to read on the Shonen Jump+ app for free.
