Summary

One Piece’sElbaf arc took quite a drastic turn when Oda went on to reveal Imu as the main villain of the story. Against all expectations, Imu showed up on Elbaf and did soby taking control of Gunko’s bodyand using it as a vessel.

Then, Imu did the unexpected as they turned Dorry and Brogy into demons, creating their own Giant army. Along with Dorry and Brogy, hundreds of other Giants were also turned into demons by Imu, and so far, this remains to be one of the most dangerous abilities seen inOne Piece. While the ability certainly looks unbeatable, Oda has already revealed the counter to it, and it’s been hiding in plain sight.

Imu Can Use Domi Reversi To Turn Giants Into Demons

When Imu first took control of Gunko’s body, fans knew that trouble was on Elbaf, but few considered the possibility of Imu turning the Giants into their own slave army. To do this, Imu summoned a Grimoire out of thin air, and then used weapons out of it. Stabbing Brogy’s hand, and then shooting it off with a gun, Imu took a part of his lifespan. This lifespan marked some sort of demonic exchange. In exchange for taking Brogy’s lifespan, Imu went on to give him demonic powers using the Demonic Contract. According to Imu, those who get turned into demons gain Immortality, and have their strength boosted considerably. They also lose all sense of reason and become mindless slaves of Imu.

Allow Mu to show thee the dominance of a God! — Imu

As seen in Elbaf, Dorry and Brogy both went on to become Imu’s slaves after they used Domi Reversi, and now, it seems that they’re bound to die. But, there could be a way to save them, and along with them, many other Giants as well. The answer to saving them lies in the character that can be considered to be the most crucial in the whole arc, and that’s King Harald.

Harald Has Shown The Way To Counter Domi Reversi

Harald Is The Greatest King In The History Of Giants

When Harald was first introduced inOne Piece, fans had no idea how great his legacy was going to be. Now, however, it is clear that Haraldis revered as a God in Elbaf. He was Elbaf’s greatest King, and by quite a mile. He was loved by all the people, and that’s precisely why Loki’s charge of killing him bears so much weight.

King Harald ripped his own horns! — Road

Harald is clearly shownto have been obedient to the World Government. InOne Piecechapter 1152, Loki clearly states that Harald had bowed to the World Government and is their lapdog now. He might even have been one of the Holy Knights. On that, fans need more information, but, one thing that stood out about King Harald was his horns, and it is in these horns that the answer to countering Domi Reversi lies.

Ripping Out Horns Is The Way to Counter Domi Reversi

As fans know, Harald ripped out his own horns. When Road introduced Harald, he said that he ripped them out to reject his own Ancient Giant blood, and show that he detested violence. That may be true to some extent, but it is highly likely that Harald ripped them out to resistImu’s control through Domi Reversi. Imu must’ve been fascinated by Harald’s power. This much is known, given that Imu themself confirmed that they had a deal with Harald.

Then, if Imu ever tried to control Harald, the only way for him to resist would’ve been to rip his own horns out. Perhaps, Harald died because he wanted his own men to kill him before he was used as a pawn to destroy his own country, and if that’s the case,it makes for Elbaf’s biggest tragedy.
