Oda gave the fans a glimpse of Harald and all the others around 14 years ago, and it seems that Shanks’s connection to the Holy Knights is now confirmed, once and for all.
Shanks Joined The World Government After The Roger Pirates
One Piecechapter 1152 finally gave the fans a glimpse of the fateful day on which King Harald died. Although it was difficult to say what exactly happened to Harald, fans did get a closer look at Shanks, and it was clear to see that he held a very special mark on his left arm.

Now, this doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise to many fans. This is because earlier in the arc, when Shamrock Figarland was finally revealed to the fans, he clearly mentioned in the story that his younger twin, Shanks, did return tothe Holy Land of Marijoaat one point. According to Shamrock, he didn’t adjust to life well there and ended up leaving for good.
In One Piece 1152, it seems that 14 years ago, Shanks was still working for the Government, and it was only after this incident that he left the Government and started his own pirate crew.

Shanks is one ofOne Piece’smost exciting characters, and with the latest reveal, his story is now more exciting than ever before. WithOne Piecechapter 1152, Oda has practically confirmed to the fans that Shanks was actuallya part of the Holy Knights. On his left arm, the mark of the Holy Knights can clearly be seen. Shanks and Shamrock both likely worked together here at this point in time, and that’s what makes his character even more interesting.

Why exactly Shanks joined the Governmentis unknown, but it has likely got to do with something that Roger asked him to do. Roger and Shanks’s conversation, which fans never heard, is likely the key to this. It goes without saying that Shanks had an ulterior motive here.
Why Shanks Left The World Government
Shanks' leaving the World Government is no surprise. He most likely left his position because ultimately, Shanks was never with the World Government. He most definitely had his own motives for aligning with them. Once his job was complete, Shanks left the World Government and did what he always wanted to do, and that is to start his own pirate crew. Around 13 years ago, Shanks had established the Red Hair Pirates, and this is when he attacked Who’s Who in the East Blue and stole the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which is likely what he was always after all this time.
