This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.

Over the years, Oda has revealed tons of powerful pirates in the world ofOne Piece. When it comes to the strongest, of course, the Yonko come to mind. After all, they’re the ones known to rule the seas like Kings in the current world. But, often, Oda reveals old figures in his story who then go on to be massively overpowered.

When considering the strongest pirates, there are those whose strength can be said to be far beyond that of even the Yonko, and one such example isthe late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. Roger was a monster unlike any other, but even he wasn’t the mightiest in the world. As confirmed inOne Piecechapter 1154, the strongest pirate in the world is none other than Rocks D. Xebec.

Roger And Whitebeard Were Monstrously Strong Pirates

There is no denying the fact that Roger and Whitebeard are two monstrously strong pirates. Before the Great Pirate Era, Roger was the one taking up all the spotlight and he did it in incredible fashion. He even went on to fight Whitebeard on multiple occasions, and it is said that they were evenly matched. However, it must also be considered that Roger was severely ill during their battles and was weakened by a terminal illness. Normally, Roger might actually have been even stronger. Still,Whitebeard managed to match Roger, and Oda himself states that he was on par with the Pirate King.

How many years has it been, Newgate? You’ve been well, I assume? — Roger to Whitebeard

These two held tremendous power.Roger’s Haki was the strongest in the world, while Whitebeard had the Gura Gura no Mi at his disposal, which made him even stronger. Yet, neither of them was truly stronger than the man who came before, Rocks D. Xebec.

Rocks D. Xebec Is The Strongest Pirate In One Piece

Rocks Was Stronger Than Gol D. Roger

It has already been established inthe story that Rocks D. Xebecis the strongest pirate in recent history. Rocks was an absolute monster who was considered to be the biggest enemy of Gol D. Roger, even bigger than Whitebeard. A year before God Valley, Rocks and Roger fought, and while the result isn’t clear, it is heavily implied that Roger lost.

38 years ago, in God Valley, Roger fought Rocks again, and this time, succeeded in killing him, but only after he joined forces with Garp, the Navy Vice Admiral.

It was revealed inOne Piecechapter 1154 that 56 years ago,Rocks even killed a Marine Admiral with ease, before he even hit his prime years as a pirate. His strength was truly monstrous.

Whitebeard was his underling, while Roger couldn’t beat him, and he even killed Admirals with what seems to be little effort. If there was ever any doubt, there is absolutely none there anymore. Rocks D. Xebec was the strongest pirate in the recent history of theOne Pieceworld. That said, it is also highly likely that Roger eventually went on to reach his levelafter the God Valley Incident, as did Whitebeard.
