The episode was emotional, and it showed how Kuma was superior to most characters in One Piece. As previously stated, the episode garnered a rating of 9.9 on IMDb, which is a testament to how much viewers enjoyed it. The news of the One Piece episode reaching such a high rating began spreading like wildfire on social networking platforms.

One Piece fans were happy that their beloved series was receiving so much fame, but they had no idea that it would have a massive downside. Not long afterward, fans of other anime series went to IMDb and began review bombing the episode.
The people who review bombed the episode didn’t even hide their intentions while doing so. It was quite apparent that they didn’t think the One Piece Episode deserved 9.9, so they downvoted it. Other reviews on the website complained about the length of One Piece, and one was just a copy and paste of the synopsis of the series. Thankfully, these reviews didn’t affect the episode’s rating too muc, and currently, it stands with a rating of 9.8. However, it’s still unfortunate that the episode was robbed of its rating of 9.9.
One Piece Isn’t The First Anime To Be Review Bombed
In recent times,Lord of Mysteries has also had the misfortune of being review bombedby rival fans. When Lord of Mysteries released its third episode, it immediately came under attack from other fanbases. The episode was spammed with one-star ratings, but thankfully, it didn’t ruin the score too much.
Both these instances prove that review bombing is a major problem within the anime industry. It may seem harmless, but it can have serious repercussions in the long run. For instance, someone who is new to the world of anime might rely on the aggregate score on websites like IMDband MyAnimeList to make a decision aboutwhich series to watch.
If the score is too low, the person will certainly overlook the title and go for something that has a better rating. Anime fans need to stop review bombing immediately and find a more rational approach. They can communicate their feelings on social media, which is beneficial to them as well as other people.
One Piece Is A Strong Contender For Anime Of The Year
One Piece Can Claim The Biggest Award
Every year, several anime are nominated for awards by different organizations. Out of them,the one held by Crunchyroll holds morevalue to fans, mainly because it’s the go-to streaming website for anime. Earlier this year, Solo Leveling ended up winning the award ahead of the likes of Dandadan, The Apothecary Diaries, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and Kaiju No. 8. The decision was controversial, and to this day, there are debates about who should have won it.
Given the quality of One Piece, it seems inevitable that it will be nominated for the Anime of the Year award. The riveting story, along with an insanely high quality of animation, makes One Piece a leading candidate for the award. However, it’s still early to tell, as there are many other worthy titles that deserve a shot. Fans will get a better idea of where One Piece stands once the Egghead arc wraps up.
