Publisher Deck13 Spotlight has recently confirmed thatChained Echoes: Ashes of Elrantwill be released on Jul 07, 2025.Ashes of Elrantwill be a new DLC for the popular PGChained Echoes, and it’s set to bring more story, areas, monsters, and bosses to the popular game, which many gamers originally discovered via Xbox Game Pass.
Created by the solo dev Matthias Linda (also known as Umami Tiger),Chained Echoeswas originally released in 2022. Using 16-bit pixel art graphics, the game was inspired by Japanese RPGs from the 90s, such asChrono Trigger,Final Fantasy 6, and others. At the time,Chained Echoeswas added to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service as a day one release, becoming quite popular on the platform. Unfortunately,Chained Echoeswas removed from Game Pass in December 2023, leaving saddened fans, as the title was considered one of the best RPGs to be added to the service.
Now, Deck13 has released a new video forChained of Echoes: Ashes of Elrant, revealing that the upcoming DLC will be released on August 7 on all platforms. According to the company, the DLC will be set soon before the end of the base game, as the main characters will be called for action one last time. During their adventure, they will find out more information about the Order of Leonar and Lenne’s past, facing new challenges along the way. The DLC will come with a new playable character, a few additional areas, over 40 enemies and bosses, more than 15 new music tracks, more equipment, and even a few unique mini-games. Some details aboutChained of Echoes’ upcoming DLChave not yet been confirmed, though, such as how lengthy this new story will be.
When Will Chained Echoes: Ashes of Elrant Be Released?
SinceChained Echoes’ release, Umami Tiger and Deck13 have not released many major updates for the title. One of the most significant patches was theaddition of a New Game+ mode forChained Echoes, which happened a few weeks after the title was released.
While some gamers will likely have already finishedChained Echoes, the DLC will give them a reason to come back and spend some more time in its world. With an average critic score of 89 onOpenCritic,Chained Echoesis among the best RPGs released in 2022, and it’s also likely that the release of the DLC may attract gamers who have not given this title a chance yet, too.
