Nintendo Switch 2 launch titleFast Fusionis getting three new tracks and a number of gameplay and performance tweaks in its June 26 Pure Update. As the fourth installment in theFastseries, Fast Fusionfollows 2017’sFast RMX. Fans of the 2017 installment should be happy to see some familiar tracks returning in the newFast Fusioncontent update with a few modernizations.
Developed by Shin’en Multimedia,Fast Fusionis a blisteringly fast sci-fi racer that combines anti-gravity tracks with deep customization and chaotic multiplayer mayhem. The game features a unique “Fusion Mode” where racers can merge vehicles to create powerful hybrids with upgraded abilities and boosts, allowinghundreds of potentialFast Fusionvehicle combinations. Exclusive to Switch 2,Fast Fusionallows 4-player split-screen and local co-op via the console’s GameShare functionality, although it does not offer a traditional online multiplayer option. Whether online multiplayer will be added in a future update remains to be seen.
Shin’en Multimedia is bringing back three classicFast RMXtracks toFast Fusioncompletely free in its June 26 Pure Update: Alpine Trust, Sunahara Plains, and Zenshoh Habitat. The tracks have been completely redesigned for the Switch 2 with improved graphics and alternate track layouts to take advantage ofFast Fusion’s new Hyperjump feature, which allows racers to jump over obstacles – including over racers – to get ahead. The update also addresses a number ofcriticisms noted in reviews forFast Fusionby making progression easier and improving the game’s overall stability and performance.
Fast Fusion Update Adds Three Free Tracks
Another major addition made by thenew content update forFast Fusionis a new “PURE” rendering mode, which players can toggle to render the game without any upscaling at 1440p docks and 1080 in handheld mode. Notably, the patch also includes a fix for a bug that caused the game to shut down when changing the render mode. Other fixes and additions include two new songs and a new GPU particle system for snow effects.
The new content update brings the total number of tracks up to 15. Combined with the game’s vehicle fusion mechanic,Fast Fusionleaves players spoiled for choice. With its expansive roster of sci-fi vehicles, flashy tracks, and a thumping synthwave soundtrack for just $14.99,Fast Fusionis one of the cheapest Switch 2 launch titles, providing a solid alternative toMario Kart Worldfor racing fans on the Switch 2. Hopefully, Shin’en Multimedia has plans to add a proper online multiplayer option in a future update so fans can face-off against one another on the neon-drenched circuits.
