The Xbox version of developer Teyon’sRoboCop: Rogue Cityis currently on sale for less than seven dollars. The first-person shooter was originally released in March 2023 on multiple platforms but seemed to fall a bit under the radar. It garnered a Fair rating from reviewers on OpenCritic when it first came out, but nearly 20,000 user reviews on Steam tell a different story. Sitting at an overall Very Positive rating on Valve’s storefront, players have a lot of praise forRoboCop: Rogue City, particularly the game’s nostalgic throwback to the original films and early 2000s gameplay and design.
While many players advise that those unfamiliar with theRoboCopuniverse watch the first two films before tacklingRogue City,Teyon’s shooter tells an entirely new story about Alex Murphy, a fallen Detroit police officer who is forced back into the line of duty as an ultra-powerful, crime-fighting cyborg. The cybernetic cop inRoboCop: Rogue Cityhas an impressive array of skillsto help him battle ruthless criminals and corrupt corporations, including the ability to reprogram turrets, scan for hidden rooms, and of course induce public trust to reveal more dialogue options.
Through August 1, the Alex Murphy edition ofRoboCop: Rogue Citywill be available at a steep discount on the Xbox store, and fans can scoop it up for a mere seven dollars. This edition includes the base game, a digital artbook, an Omni Consumer Products (OCP) shotgun, and two cosmetic items, including “the hero’s damaged armour” inspired by the first film. There is a second DLC available forRogue City, the Vanguard Pack, which features the blue armor fromRoboCop 2and a pitch black skin for Murphy’s Auto-9 weapon. This pack must be purchased separately but can also be picked up at a slight discount for a limited time.
