Silksong Would Benefit From Copying Hollow Knight’s Early Tease of Monomon the Teacher

Elegy for Hallownest

The opening ofHollow Knightshowcases a poem, “Elegy for Hallownest.” At first, it’s unclear what the significance of the poem is, but later on, when the game introduces Monomon and the other Dreamers, it’s a surprising reveal that ties the beginning of the game back to that very moment. The first four lines of the poem help set the tone for the game, and the reveal of its author is deeply satisfying.Silksong’s lengthy developmenthas opened the game up to an onslaught of speculation, but copyingHollow Knight’s foreshadowing opening in a fresh way could be a strong, but simple, way to tie the two games together.

While Matthew Griffin claims thatSilksongwill launch before Christmas, delays are always possible.

Silksong Can Have its Own Version of Monomon

Since the Dreamers won’t be present inSilksong, the sequel will possibly have a new take on a trio. It’s unclear what that will look like, but it could be a solid way to foreshadow major names once again. For the past few months, it feels like Team Cherry has continued to tease eager fans with small updates. Just recently,Silksong’s Steam pagereceived five updates in the span of two days.

This type of activity has a lot of gamers theorizing thatTeam Cherry is gearing up for the game’s impending launch. Only time will tell, but once players are able to boot up that opening scene, there will be a lot of happy tears around the world. Having a foreshadowing moment in the opening doesn’t necessarily have to copy Monomon’s poem, either. There are plenty of ways that Team Cherry could take players by surprise.

In addition to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S,Silksongwill also be available for the Switch 2 and ROG Xbox Ally.

Silksong Will Be Playable Soon, But Only for a Lucky Few

This upcomingmuseum exhibit in Australiawill be the world’s first taste of the sequel. While this playable section of the game is only available to exhibit attendees, hearing firsthand accounts is bound to be exciting.

Between the game being showcased at the ACMI exhibit and Matthew Griffin claiming that the game will arrive before the end of the year,Silksongcould be one of the biggest launches of 2025. As of now, the wait continues, but getting to experienceSilksong’s first moments will hopefully be well worth the wait.
