Once Humanhas finally announced its arrival on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, which is scheduled for 2026. Developed by NetEase-owned Starry Studio,Once Humanis a popular online survival game currently only available on PC and mobile.

Back in July 2024,Once Humanfirst hit the PC storefronts and firmly established its presence on the platform, getting over 230K concurrent players at launch on Steam alone. As a result, it is one of the prominent online titles from NetEase, alongside games such asMarvel Rivals,Naraka: Bladepoint, andFragPunk. Since its initial launch, a flurry ofOnce Humanupdateshave contributed towards retaining a significant chunk of its players, enabling the multiplayer game to still attract over 30K concurrent Steam players every day. In the near future, that level of player engagement looks set to increase considerably, with the console ports now more or less being set in stone.

During its 2025 Global Annual Showcase stream on July 2, the team behindOnce Humanrevealed its plan to roll out PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the free-to-play game in 2026. It shared that the development of these ports was “nearing completion” and that the previews and platform-specific optimizations would be unveiled “soon.” Meanwhile, PlayStation and Xbox players can go ahead and wishlist the gameto receive exclusive early-bird rewards at launch. On theofficial website, it was confirmed that existingOnce Humanplayers on mobileand PC will be able to use the same account for playing the game on consoles. However, it appears that the PlayStation and Xbox editions will likely take some time before they “catch up with the progress” of other editions, after which all ports are “expected” to maintain consistency in this regard.

Once Human Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2026

WithOnce Humanset to land on consoles next year, NetEase will soon cater to another new demographic of players, consisting of console users, after already bringing mobile users into the mix in April. With the game’sAndroid and iOS versionsboasting a rating of 4.6 out of 5 and 4.5 out of 5, respectively, they can confidently be seen as successful releases. The devs working onOnce Human’s console versions will hope they can repeat something similar when the time comes.
