On July 15,Guild Wars 2revealed its sixth expansion,Visions of Eternity, which is scheduled to go live on Tuesday, October 28, following a two-month delay. The upcomingGuild Wars 2expansion will feature new elite specializations and enhancements like an upgraded skimmer mount, fashion templates, and a consolidated raid and strike interface.
Guild Wars 2’s next expansion will take players to the remote island of Castora, a place that has long been thought not to even exist due to its location and mysteries. Castora will feature two open-world regions at the expansion’s launch for players to explore. As the main story ofVisions of Eternityprogresses over 2025 and 2026, two more zones will be unlocked. Followingweeks of teasers byGuild Wars 2on social media,Visions of Eternitywill bring back Elite Specializations, as each profession will get new trait lines, mechanics, and skills that give players new ways to customize their characters. An open beta test focused on elite specializations is scheduled for August 20 to 27.
Weeks after announcing that the launch ofVisions of Eternitywould be delayed by two months,Guild Wars 2gave players a look at the game’s future.Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternitywill go live on Tuesday, October 28, at approximately Noon Eastern.ArenaNet shared the first detailsabout Visions of Eternity via a short trailer that lasted over a minute. Along with the updates to the game’s professions,Visions of Eternitywill see some upgrades to the Skimmer mount, which will allow players easier passage through Castora’s wild environments. Additionally,Guild Wars 2transmog collectors will get a major upgrade, as fashion templates will allow players to save their favorite cosmetics and swap between them as easily as build and equipment templates already do.

Pre-orders forGuild Wars 2: Visions of Eternityare now availablestarting at $24.99 for the Standard Edition. Unlike previous updates,Visions of Eternity’s elite specializations will not offer new weapon choices to players, but instead giveprofessions like the magical Elementalistnew abilities and customization options.Guild Wars 2’s raids and strikes will also be streamlined under a new structure that will go live in 2026, along with new systems to encourage group content.
