Hello Games has pushed out Update 5.74 forNo Man’s Sky, another July 2025 patch that brings a handful of bug fixes, graphical tweaks, and gameplay improvements - most notably around settlement-related issues. Even after nearly a decade since launch, the development team hasn’t let up.No Man’s Skystill gets steady updates, mixing in both fixes and additions to keep things running smoothly.
Earlier this month,No Man’s Skyreceived Patch 5.73, which mainly dealt with problems caused by the recent Beacon update. That patch took care of several annoying issues, including a bug on the Switch 2 version that caused the warp tunnel to look extremely low-res.
Just a few days later,Patch 5.74 has landed, targeting a broader range of technical hiccups and platform-specific bugs. On PC, players should see better texture quality on base parts. ForNo Man’s SkySwitch players, there are a bunch of fixes that tackle things like audio glitches, visual issues inside Freighters, and user interface elements, such as icons showing up out of place or text getting cut off. Cross-save gets some attention too, with a fix for settlements vanishing when switching between platforms. A few other technical problems have also been handled, including a multiplayer crash, some flickering on AMD and Intel graphics cards, and a jetpack bug that popped up after closing the build menu.
No Man’s SkySettlementssee some solid fixes here as well. If multiple settlements exist in the same star system, missions tied to the tutorial or the “Trace of Metal” questline won’t get stuck anymore. An odd “Nothing Found” message that used to appear in the early stages has been fixed, and successful settlement defenses now trigger celebratory fireworks again, restoring a bit of life to those moments. Additionally, Quad units that were just standing around during attacks are now back to doing their job, which helps make defenses feel a lot more responsive.
On the gameplay side, a few quality-of-life tweaks have been added too. There’s now a recovery system that helpsNo Man’s Skyplayers return from far-off locations introduced in the In Stellar Multitudes update, which should help avoid situations where progress could get stuck. Some disappearing mission markers and broken cosmetics, like the Horrific Flesh-Helmet not showing up correctly, have been sorted out. Old base parts that were displaying the wrong materials should now look as they should. While there’s no major new content in this patch, it’s another example ofHello Games continuing to fine-tuneNo Man’s Sky.
