TheDCUis off to a great start withSuperman, which opened in theaters on July 11. With fans and critics alike being hopeful for the future of the DCU after James Gunn’sSuperman, why not take a look at what other projects DC Studios has in the works for the central DCU?

The projects listed below are confirmed to be in development, or have already filmed/started filming and have imminent release dates for 2026 and beyond. These DC Studios productions are all canon to the DCU, meaning no Elseworld stories will be considered (even if The Batman Part 2 has everyone hyped).

The Batman Part 2 will not be listed here, as despite being a DC Studios movie, it’s an Elseworld tale outside the DCU canon.

8Peacemaker (Season 2)

Peacemakeris perhaps the last thread that ties the DCEU to the DCU, leaving many audience members confused about the property and sanctity of canon. However, with the imminent arrival ofPeacemaker’s second season on HBO Max, it seems that answers will be provided so that it’s made very clear wherePeacemakerfits into the whole canon of the DCU. This project is a direct sequel to the first season ofPeacemaker, where Christoper Smith (John Cena) tries to join the ranks of successful superheroes, only to find that his quest for peace at any cost makes him seemabsurd and violent, with a search for a higher purpose that could change the DCU.

7Supergirl

The Woman of Tomorrow Gets an Epic Space Adventure

James Gunn hasn’t been shyabout his excitement forSupergirlas a big science fiction epic film based on Tom King’s spectacular comicSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. TheSupergirlproject will be the second live-action movie in the DCU that’s scheduled to release on June 05, 2025, and while audiences have yet to see a trailer, they might catch a glimpse of Superman’s cousinif they watchSuperman(2025).Supergirlis a project that’s under wraps, but audiences can expect Jason Momoa as Lobo, along with Krypto the Superdog, and perhaps a party-filled and revenge-fueled quest across a sprawling and epic galaxy for a spectacular and heartfelt sci-fi adventure.

6Lanterns

Iconic Green Lanterns Investigate an American Murder Mystery

Green Lanterns haven’t been seen in live-action since Ryan Reynolds’ take on the character back in 2011, but it seems that the DCU has brought new willpower to the space cops and Guardians of Oa.Supermanfeatured a Green Lantern with the cocky and infamous jerk of Guy Gardner, and theLanternsproject run by Chris Mundy and written by talent such as Damon Lindelof and Tom King, seems to be smoothly into production. No release date has been provided forLanterns, but audiences can expect to see Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) in late 2026, where a veteran Lantern legend teams with a new recruit to investigatea strange metahumanmurder in America. WhileLanternsseems to be grounded as aTrue Detective-like series, the terrifying mystery left to uncover will prove that these characters need Green Lantern’s light.

5Clayface

A Failing B-List Actor Takes a Substance for an R-Rated Body Horror

With a script from the talented Mike Flanagan,Clayfaceis set to enter production very soon, and set to release in theaters on June 25, 2025.Clayfaceis a surprising project for the DCU, and will be the 3rd live-action movie. The movie itself is expected to follow Matt Hagen (Tom Rhys Harries) as a B-movie actor in Gotham City who injects himself with an experimental substance for fame and relevancy, only to find himself deteriorating as a walking piece of clay.Clayfacewill be DC Studios’ first R-Rated horror movie, produced by Matt Reeves, and based on the iconic Feat of Clay episode fromBatman: The Animated Series.

4Sgt. Rock

A WW2 Epic Where Rock and the Gang Stop Nazis From Recovering Religious Relics

Sgt. Rockis a very exciting project, even if no one can agree on whether it’s actually in development, on hold, or canceled. Either way, when talent like Luca Guadagnino is on task to directSgt. Rock, then surely DCU fans and general audiences are in for a treat.Sgt. Rockis another project with a tight lip, but rumored plots circulating about this character and the cast of Easy Company in a race to find the Spear of Destiny before the Nazis do in a World War 2 war-epic seems like theperfect blend of action, drama, history, and of course, Indiana Jones vibes.

3Paradise Lost

A TV Series Based on the Woman-Led Island of Themyscira

Paradise Lost will be a series for HBO Max, canon to the DCU, which tells the story of the Amazon warriors on Paradise Island of Themyscira. This series is expected to be likeGame of Thrones, but with the badass Amazon women that protect their home from mankind, along with influence from the Greek Gods. While a Wonder Woman movie is expected to be in very early stages of development, it seems thatParadise Lostis more on the way, even if nothing is really known about the project at all. Either way, a story that establishes Themyscira and provides a violent and dramatic series to pave the way for Wonder Woman’s introduction to mankind seems like an epic storyworth getting excited about.

2Teen Titans

The Iconic Youthful Superhero Team Get Their Own Movie

Teen Titansis another project for the DCU that’s in the very early stages of development. So far, the only thing that’s actually known about theTeen Titansproject is that Ana Nogueira is writing the script, and audiences will see her work as the writer ofSupergirl, releasing on July 17, 2025. While no details on theTeen Titansproject are available, it’s expected that audiences will get to see Nightwing lead the team, since he wouldn’t be young enough to be Robin if Batman had a son inThe Brave and the Bold. While the lineup hasn’t been confirmed, regular players like Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg are expected to play prominent roles simply due to their popularity and chemistry.

1The Brave and the Bold

Batman’s First Movie in the DCU Shares the Screen with Robin

There has been little information given about the DCU’sBatmanproject ever since it was announced as part of the DCU’s 10-year slate for Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. James Gunn has previously said thatThe Brave and the Boldwill be a story of Batman and his son, Damian Wayne, based on Grant Morrison’s comic run. With Batman coming to terms with the fact that he has a son who has been raised to be a little assassin, it’s inevitable that this father/son movie will tug at heartstrings, but also introduce the fantastical elements of the Batman mythos with the Bat Family. There’s nothing known about this project outside of the fact that James Gunn is personally involved in the script, Andy Muschietti (Director ofThe FlashandIT) is still attached to direct the project, and Batman himself has been confirmed to be acentral pillar to the DCU.
