Misc. A Tiny Taleis the debut title from Tinyware Games, an international indie studio consisting of three main developers: Australia-based director Michael Pearce, Florida-based composer Bernard A. Kyer, and artist Chris Kleiner, operating out of New York. The game itself is a 3D platformer starring Buddy and Bag Boy, a miniature robot duo on a mission to spread joy and clean the environment. It’s been in development since at least 2020, when it was originally announced.

Ahead ofMisc. A Tiny Tale’s July 22 release, Tinyware shared a new clip from its upcoming title, which Game Rant can exclusively reveal. Over the course of two and a half minutes, the video showcases some carefree exploration and platforming taking place in an unnamed desert level. As with every stage in the game, the objective is to clear the area of trash that fell from the sky following a mysterious blast. A helpful indicator in the upper-left corner of the screen consistently tracks the percentage of the level that has been cleaned.

Misc. A Tiny Tale Promises a Wholesome Robot Adventure

The newly shared clip also serves to introduce some ofMisc. A Tiny Tale’s many NPCs, whom Buddy and Bag Boy will be looking to assist over the course of the game’s story. It further highlights the core gameplay loop, which blends platforming, light combat, and exploration. As the duo cleans up each village, they’ll uncover coins, golden cogs, and various hidden treasures. Story-wise,Misc. A Tiny Talepromises a wholesome narrativethat will seek to balance “real emotion” and humor, as per its official synopsis. Game Rant has also obtained some new screenshots from the upcoming title, featuring Buddy and a cute cat NPC called Flick.

Misc. A Tiny Tale PC Port Will Be Slightly Behind Switch Version

Misc. A Tiny Talewas originally planned to launch on PC alongside the Switch. However, the PC port has recently been pushed back by a bit over a week and is now scheduled to debut on July 31 rather than July 22. Reflecting on this delay, Tinyworks said it intends to use the extra time to further polish the PC version and expand it with some quality-of-life improvements catering to mouse-and-keyboard controls.

PC Gamers Will Be Able To Grab Misc. A Tiny Tale With a Launch Discount

As a way to thank PC gamers for their patience, the indie developer-publisher will be launchingMisc. A Tiny Talewith a 15% discount on Steam. The deal will bring it down to $16.99. It’s currently unclear how long the early-adopter promotion will last. The Switch version of the game will retail for $19.99.
