AMinecraftplayer experienced an embarrassing fail that was made even worse by the presence of a sign they’d made, warning them not to do exactly what led to their doom. Unfortunately, this lapse in judgment meant game over inMinecraft, as they were playing in Hardcore mode.
It’s reasonable to say that everyone who has ever playedMinecrafthas seen their character die at least once. There are numerous hazards in the sandbox game, but how badly the death impacts a game depends on how they’re playing. Outside Hardcore mode, some players may struggle to make it back to the place of their demise in time to collect their lost loot, while those inMinecraft’s Hardcore modehave to come to terms with all of their progress being lost. Considering all it takes is one small mistake to get a game over in Hardcore mode, many players can empathize when they see someone fail like this.
On Reddit, user SonazeFan shared a gameplay video of their brother making a bigmistake in their Hardcore world. The clip shows the player, who was level 25, working on a sky base high above the ground. After breaking a couple blocks, they move to another part of the base, where a sign has been placed on the edge that says “¡No te caigas!” or in English, “Don’t fall!” The player evidently put it there to remind themselves to be particularly cautious around the edge. However, mere seconds later, the player hops up on the ledge and tries to land on a lower surface, but misses it entirely, crashing all the way down to the ground. Unfortunately, it was an instant game over for them, wasting all of their progress.
Minecraft Players Cringe at Mistake
Numerous fans have commented on the post, pointing to the sign and making jokes about why the player seemed to completely disregard it. Plenty of players have pointed out that there were ways to have avoided this fate, like making sure to crouch, or using theEnder Pearlin their inventory to save themselves mid-fall. Others have said that given the clip was the Switch version of the game, it may have been too difficult to navigate quickly to the Ender Pearl, though SonazeFan noted that their brother didn’t even remember picking it up, so he probably wouldn’t have thought to use it.
Getting a game over in Hardcore mode can happen to anyMinecraftplayer, and it’s often not their fault. However, this clip is a good reminder that building up into the sky isn’t the wisest idea on Hardcore, especially if a player is ill-prepared like this. A quickly deployed bucket of water, setting up a pool underneath the base ahead of time, or having an Elytra are useful ways to helpensure survival on Hardcore mode inMinecraftwhen a player finds themselves in a situation like this one.
