OneMinecraftplayer has created several concepts for hostile mob variants and shared them for others online to see. WhileMinecraftalready has many mobs, many players think these custom variants could add some more excitement to the gameplay.
SinceMinecraft’s release over a decade ago, Mojang has continued to add new content to the game. In addition to the numerous blocks that can be used to build elaborate structures, the open world is home to many mobs. These mobs help various environments feel alive, and they can offer benefits to players. However,Minecraftfeatures hostile mobsthat can make traversal dangerous for the unprepared. Many players are familiar with classics like the Creeper and Zombie, while newer updates have added things like the Breeze and Creaking.
While Mojang continues to addnew content toMinecraftvia game drops, one fan has come up with some inventive concepts for future hostile mob variants. Known as Sea_Honey_2747 on Reddit, the player shared art and descriptions illustrating what variants of the Zombie, Drowned, Husk, Creeper, Spider, and Wither Skeleton could look like. Specifically, these designs incorporated what the Reddit user described as “equipment” to enhance the mobs’ abilities. According to Sea_Honey_2747, the idea for the project originated from the popular suggestion of having Zombies use doors as shields in the game.
Minecraft Fan’s Hostile Mob Variants
As seen in one of the images, the Reddit user included a concept for what they called the “Door Zombie.” This variant held a door that blocks incoming projectiles and could be brandished as a weapon. Some of the other designs included a Drowned that used a barrel as a protective shell and a Husk that could temporarily blind players by throwing dusty pots. Beyond these ideas, Sea_Honey_2747 came up with the “Beecreeper,” a variant of the Creeper that released a swarm of angry bees upon detonation. They also shared variants for the Spider and Wither Skeleton that could make combat more exciting inMinecraft.
These hostile mob variants have been a hit with the game’s community, gaining over 16K upvotes on Reddit. In the comments, many fans weighed in on the designs, saying they would like to see them added officially toMinecraftin the future. In addition, some users said the Door Zombie gave themPlants vs. Zombiesvibes, pointing out a similar concept utilized there.
It is hard to say whether Mojang will ever make variants similar to these in the future, but the reception on Reddit suggests fans would like to see more variety for existing mobs. It is worth noting that the developer has already added mob variants for several passive mobs in theSpring to Life game drop forMinecraftearlier this year. Hopefully, future game drops will continue to add more variation to the open world.
