Marvel RivalsSeason 2.5 is drawing to a close, and both fans and developer NetEase are setting their sights on the future.Marvel RivalsSeason 3 is set to launch on July 11, and while NetEase hasn’t officially confirmed any details just yet, the season’s theme and new playable heroes are becoming more obvious by the day.

Marvel Rivalshas just announced its final pair of paid skins for Season 2.5. After a month of build-up, fans are finally getting the long-awaitedFuture Foundation Spider-Man skin. But it’sMarvel Rivals' new Captain America skin that might end up having the most impact on the hero shooter’s future.

Marvel Rivals Captain Klyntar Skin

Marvel Rivals' Captain Klyntar Skin Is Kicking Off Season 3 Early

Available on July 3 for US players,Marvel Rivals' upcoming Captain Klyntar skingives The First Avenger a Symbiote makeover. According to the Marvel Rivals Twitter page, this skin has been directly inspired byEdge of Venomverse #1from 2017, which sees an alternate universe Steve Rogers (called Captain Venom) recruiting a Venomized X-23 to fight a war against the Poisons, an alien species who can assimilate the Symbiotes.

Marvel Rivals' Captain Klyntar skin and its accompanying cosmetics look great, but there’s more to this skin than meets the eye. The announcement of this Symbiote-themed skin right now seems to confirm the long-standing rumor thatMarvel RivalsSeason 3 will revolve aroundKnull, the God of Symbiotes, and the Symbiote homeworld of Klyntar.

As if the skin wasn’t enough of a tease on its own, the Marvel Rivals Twitter account has also just posted a 6-second clip with the caption “Klyntar is about to ignite.” The clip itself seems to be teasing the appearance of Jean Grey, with it showing what seems to be a Phoenix Egg, the vessel that appears each time the Phoenix Force dies and is reborn.

It was also rumored thatMarvel RivalsSeason 3 would be bringing a collection ofSymbiote-themed skinsto the hero shooter, with Captain Klyntar being one of those leaked to appear a few weeks ago. His appearance here at the end of Season 2.5 is hopefully just a sign of things to come.

Other Symbiote Skins That Should Be Added in Marvel Rivals Season 3

In the 41 years since the Symbiote’s comic book debut, there have been a plethora of heroes and villains who have bonded with the alien species. More often than not, it’sthe Venom Symbiotethat latches onto these characters. It would be great to see some of these comic Symbiote suits come toMarvel Rivalsin Season 3.

Venomized Guardians of the Galaxy

First seen inVenomverse #2, the Guardians of the Galaxy of Earth-18197 are all Venomized versions of their plucky selves. Groot and Rocket arguably have the best Symbiote designs of the bunch, and it’d be great to see a variation of their outfits come toMarvel Rivals' next season.

Venomized Wolverine

There have been a few different versions of Venomized Wolverine over the years, but one of the cleanest designs comes from 2024’sWhat If…Venom Had Bonded To Wolverine?, where the Symbiote latches onto the Mutant after a brutal brawl with Sabretooth. TheWhat If…Venom?series contains five separate volumes, each one focusing on a different Venomized hero. They’d all be great fits for the new skins inMarvel RivalsSeason 3.

Symbiote Spider-Man

One of the most requestedMarvel Rivalsskins already, Spider-Man’s black suit needs to be added if the next season revolves around Symbiotes.

Venom King in Black

It wouldn’t feel right to have an entireMarvel Rivalsseason centered around Symbiotes and not give Venom a new skin. One perfect pick would be from the 2020-2021King in Blackevent, where Venom faces off against Knull using his newly acquired Captain Universe powers.
