Just like they did with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, scalpers have been snatching up Switch 2 units and reselling them for inflated prices online. Additionally, a delivery truck had its Nintendo Switch 2 inventory stolen in a heist while transporting it to a GameStop in Texas earlier this month.

A man in Oakland was arrested on June 17 after being accused of stealing about $10,000 worth of Nintendo Switch games from local libraries in Marin County, California. According toDexertoand the official Facebook page for theMarin County Sheriff’s Office, authorities believe the suspect specifically targeted the libraries for theirNintendo Switch game collections, as many now offer up a curated selection of video games to draw in younger visitors. Additionally, the robberies are said to have taken place across at least seven library locations between April and June.

The suspect in question is now facing 12 felony charges for his alleged Nintendo Switch game thefts, including multiple counts of burglary and committing a felony while out on bail. The exact titles and number of games stolen haven’t been made public, but the reported dollar value could mean that over 150 titles could have been taken.
