But with plenty of advancements in gaming technology over the five and a half years since its release, the game’s visuals may look a little dated to some players. A new announcement on the game’s Steam page shows the developers are addressing that problem, on PC at least, with an HD upgrade that promises to provide improved rendering and enhanced environmental graphics. A short trailer included with the announcement gives a few glimpses at the changes toDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s world, displaying more realistic reflections on the surface of water, crisper imagery when traveling underwater, and much lusher and more robust plant life. Scheduled for release on July 29, 2025, this upgrade will be free to players who already ownDragon Ball Z: Kakaroton Steam, and those who have yet to join the party have a golden opportunity to do so, as the game is currently on sale for $14.99, a 75 percent reduction of its normal cost.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Steam HD Improvements are Coming in July 2025

Fans who have been following the game’s path forward may notice that the launch date of the Steam HD upgrade coincides with therelease ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s first DLC based onDragon Ball Daima. The Daima Journeys Through the Demon Realm Part 1 DLC will introduce a new story from the 20-episode anime that concluded this past February, as a childlike version of Goku embarks on a new quest with allies Glorio, Panzy, and Supreme Kai, in an effort to save Dende from the clutches of Gomah, supreme king of the demon realm.

The game’sDragon Ball Daimacontent is expected to release in three parts, but players shouldn’t expect the second round to arrive until early 2026. Producer Bandai Namco Entertainment has recently shared information onnew features in Part 1 ofDragon Ball Kakarot’sDaimaDLC, including memorable moments from the anime, like Goku’s fight with Glorio, as well as some new story content that dives more into Panzy’s personal interests. The upcoming DLC will also introduce a new fast travel mechanic, and the floating islands will reveal hidden secrets aboutDaima’s story.
