This article contains some spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen series.

Jujutsu Kaisen, the magnum opus of Gege Akutami, topped Shonen Jump’s sales charts not that long ago as its final arc was being written. TheJJKseries was going quite strong until its unfortunate conclusion in 2024.

Undoubtedly, a series such asJujutsu Kaisen, with immense popularity, is hard to compete with, but one other Shonen Jump manga has blown it out of the water, and it’s not even close when their numbers are compared.

Jujutsu Kaisen is One of the Biggest Shonen Series

Jujutsu Kaisen has definitely been one of the highlights of Shonen Jumpin the last few years. The series is not that long, but in just about 270 chapters, the story amassed a massive fanbase.

Jujutsu Kaisenwas always popular, even before its first anime season ever aired. But, the anime really helped propel the anime’s popularity with the stupendous quality it put out. Thanks to the incredible boost from the anime,Jujutsu Kaisenquickly became one of the best-selling manga ever, even surpassing One Piece at times.

The JJK anime has two seasons, with a third on the way, and fans couldn’t be more excited. This is especially as the manga reached its conclusion last year, so all that the fans have right now is the anime. Jujutsu Kaisen will always be a household name for Shonen Jump, but recent numbers have proven that one other series is still far ahead of it.

Jujutsu Kaisen is Big, But Its Movie Success Is Nothing Compared To Demon Slayer

Jujutsu Kaisenis definitely huge, but global popularity-wise, it seems that itcan’t compete with theDemon Slayerseries.

TheDemon Slayerseries’ popularity surpassed all expectations. Its anime was a huge hit, and its movies even more so.

The first Demon Slayer movie, Mugen Train, broke all Japanese Box Office records. But now, its new movie, Akaza’s Return, broke its own records again.

It’s hardly a competition when it comesto comparing Demon Slayer movieperformance toJujutsu Kaisen’s. In just 5 days, Demon Slayer amassed over 55 million USD. Meanwhile, it tookJJK 021 days to achieve this figure. The difference between the two is quite drastic, and it doesn’t seem like Jujutsu Kaisen is ever surpassingDemon Slayer, as the gap is also obvious when it comes to manga sales. Demon Slayer, with only 23 volumes, has over doubleJujutsu Kaisen’ssales, which has 31 volumes out. Backlog sales will definitely happen forJujutsu Kaiseneventually with the new seasons, butDemon Slayerwill also experience a lot of backlog sales with the new movies.

The Next Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Could Come Close To Demon Slayer

A Gojo vs Sukuna Movie Would be Huge

WhileDemon Slayerwill probably not be surpassed anytime soon, movie-wise, one Jujutsu Kaisen movie could come close, if it ever happens.Gojo vs Sukuna is definitely one of the craziest shonen battlesever, and if the studio chooses to adapt this battle into a movie, it could do some crazy numbers at the Box Office.

TheJujutsu Kaisenseries definitely has the potential to, at the very least, surpass its own first movie, if given the opportunity.

Either way, both of these series have been huge for Shonen Jump, andJujutsu Kaisen’srecent ending has definitely left a gap that’s yet to be filled.

Both are Available on Crunchyroll and Manga Plus

The Demon Slayer manga concluded long ago, in 2020 to be specific. The story is rather short compared to most other series, and only spans over 205 chapters. Fans of the series who don’t want to wait for the movies to drop can check the manga out on Manga Plus. Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons. These anime seasons can all be found on Crunchyroll.

Meanwhile, Jujutsu Kaisen is a must-watch series on Crunchyroll as well. Currently, the anime has two seasons out, with a total of 47 episodes when combined. A third season is on the way, and fans couldn’t be more excited. The manga of Jujutsu Kaisen, which has also concluded, can also be found on Manga Plus.
