Ironheartisn’t a perfect series, but the fact that so many people could dislike it before even watching one episode would give anyone pause. The fall and winter will be a busy one, too, with the four-part showMarvel Zombiesand the seriesWonder Manarriving on Disney+ in October and December 2025.
Marvel’s Ironheart Was Review Bombed Before Its June 24th, 2025 Release
Ironheartepisodes 1 through 3 premiered on Disney+ on June 24th, 2025, but, according to a post onReddit, people gave the series low ratings on Rotten Tomatoes before it was even released. This resulted in a 32% rating on the Popcornmeter. While fans noted that those low ratings had been taken off the website, people noticed them there for a while. At the time of this writing,the series has a 69% Rotten Tomatoes score and 69% on the Popcornmeter, which shows that audiences and critics aren’t as impressed by the series as they hoped to be.
As several noted in the Reddit post, Marvel shows that feature a person of color and, oftentimes, a woman of color in the lead role tend to get review bombed.Ironheartstars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, or Ironheart, a student at MIT who makes a suit from armor that is like Iron Man’s.The series also stars Manny Montana, Cree Summer, Eric André, Jim Rash, Lyric Ross, Anji White, and Matthew Elam.Thorne had a small role inBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, and her story is expanded here.
While fans heard back in 2020 that Marvel would make anIronheartTV series, it took several years to come to fruition, and there wererumors that reshoots would take placeafter the show finished filming. According toIGN, reshoots happened in February, March, and April 2024.
Marvel fans will recognize one particular character onIronheart, and Chinaka Hodge, the head writer, toldTV Line:

Ironheartisn’t the only Marvel TV series that hasn’t impressed fans.Secret Invasionwas a disappointmentwhen it was released in 2023, and it only had one season. Many didn’t loveShe-Hulk, either.Agatha All Alongwas a fairly big hit, which is whyfans wonder if there will be another season, although it’s probably not likely.
Although most reviews haven’t been positive, some find the series entertaining, with one fan praising a cliffhanger in aRedditthread and others calling it “amazing” and “significantly better than I thought it would be.” Fans anticipatedwhether certain characters would appear inIronheart,and they won’t have to wait long to find out all the answers to their burning questions. There will be six episodes ofIronheart, andepisodes 4 through 6 will be released on Disney+ on July 1st, 2025.
