Summary
Well, would you look at that—after years of being Marvel’s B-team in the action figure world, TheFantastic Fourare finally getting the royal treatment they deserve. Hasbro just dropped the details on their Marvel Legends Wave 1 for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” and frankly, it’s about damn time.
With the movie hitting theaters July 25th, the figures are shipping just two weeks earlier on July 13th on storefronts like Amazon, which means collectors won’t have to do that awkward dance of avoiding spoilers while waiting six months for the toy tie-ins to show up.
Breaking Down The Core Four Plus One
Mister Fantastic is the most interesting figure in my opinion. They’ve given Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards a brand-new torso sculpt that matches his slimmer build. I’m sort of glad they didn’t go the generic muscular superhero body route that makes him look like he’s been hitting the gym with Thor. It also comes with swappable elongated forearms molded in flexible PVC.
The Johnny Storm situation is quite nice, too. You’re getting two complete figures here—the “pre-ignite” version in his clean blue suit, and the full “flame-on” Human Torch in translucent orange plastic with painted heat-faded highlights. The clean suit version uses Joseph Quinn’s likeness and standard Marvel Legends articulation, complete with those butterfly shoulders that Hasbro’s been pushing lately. The flame-on version is where it gets visually interesting.
You get a fully translucent body with flame jets sculpted right into the calves and forearms. That’s going to look absolutely wild under proper lighting, though they’re not including a flight stand, which seems like a missed opportunity.
The Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby likeness) comes with a standard head. The pearlescent paint on her white gloves and boots should give her some visual pop against that blue suit, and she comes with clear shield effects that peg into her forearms.
The Thing is where Hasbro really had to do some heavy lifting… literally. This is a completely new sculpt from the ground up, taller than standard figures at 6.75 inches but still designed to fit in standard case packaging. That rock texture detailing is going to make or break this figure. Too subtle and it just looks like gray plastic, too aggressive, and it interferes with the articulation. This one’s perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
Silver Surfer might be the surprise standout here. Julia Garner’s Shalla-Bal version gets that metallic finish over a matte base, which should give it proper depth instead of the usual flat silver paint you may have seen on cheaper figures. The board actually ports into the sole of her foot, and she comes with a flight stand, the only figure in the wave that does, which is a little surprising when you’ve got a flaming Human Torch who obviously needs one too.
The accessory count is pretty generous across the board. Reed gets those stretchy arms plus alternate fists, Johnny’s blue suit version comes with flame effects that sleeve over his regular fists, and Sue gets her force field pieces. Even Thing gets alternate stone fists, which might seem redundant but probably have different hand poses sculpted in.
Where To Order From
When it comes to shipping, you’ve got two solid options.
1.Go with Amazon. Orders will start shipping as early asJuly 13, 2025, but you’ll need to buy each figure separately because there’s no bundle available.
- Preorder the full case from Entertainment Earth for $150. It’s a bit more convenient and saves you a few bucks overall, but shipping won’t begin until August 2025.
Totally your call. Just depends on whether you want them faster or all in one go. I’ve linked both storefronts below so you may pick what works best for you.
