Cyberpunk 2077’supdate 2.3 may make some further fixes to the gameplay, but it also adds in some vehicle-related new content. There are four new vehicles that players can unlock, but alongside these, there’s also an AutoDrive mode that allows you to get to your destination in style and comfort. It can also be used to just cruise around and see the sights of Night City on the move. What is AutoDrive in Cyberpunk 2077?
A Convenient Way to Get Around
AutoDrive is exactly what it sounds like. It allows players to hop into a vehicle of their choice, activate the feature and let the game take the wheel. Without having to touch the controls, they’ll be guided to their marked location on their map or cruise around Night City if one isn’t marked.
There are a few things to keep in mind, though. AutoDrive is a law-abiding feature. That means that it stops at red lights, drives at the speed limit and sticks to the roads. In other words, don’t expect any wild driving or cool stunts to get you from A to B quickly. This is more about getting you there in one piece while you focus on enjoying the neon-soaked streets of Night City (or just looking at your phone). If you want to get somewhere in a hurry, using thefast travel system inCyberpunk 2077is still going to be your best option.
AutoDrive will also be disabled if you enter combat while driving, or your vehicle becomes heavily damaged. As such, while a quick moment away from your screen to visit the bathroom or answer the door will probably be fine, you’ll want to be relatively close by for the majority of the time AutoDrive is enabled in case things take a turn for the worst.
If you’vecompleted the ‘Don’t Lose Your Mind’ quest inCyberpunk 2077, you can also now call for self-driving Delamain cabs whenever you want by opening the ‘call vehicles’ menu and selecting the ‘Delamain Cab.’
How to Use AutoDrive in Cyberpunk 2077
A Press of a Button, and Another to Take in the Views
To use AutoDrive, get into any vehicle and press and hold H on PC or press in the left analock stick on consoles (L3) to activate it. AutoDrive will then activate, taking you to any marked location you have on your map. If you don’t have a location marked on your map, then AutoDrive will take you around Night City aimlessly, so you can soak in the sights and do a bit of people watching.
With AutoDrive enabled, you can also activate a cinematic camera mode by pressing and holding Q on PC or right on the d-pad for console players. This will then give you cinematic views of Night City as you cruise around in your vehicle.
