Clash Royalecards are split into five types: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Champion. Legendary cards are extremely rare and usually some of the strongest in the game.
It’s been a while sinceClash Royalegota new Legendary card. The last one was Royal Chef back in December 2024, and even that was just a tower troop. But now, there’s finally a new one. The Spirit Empress arrived in the July 2025 update, and players have been really excited about it. So, what does she do, and how can you stop her? What you need to know has been outlined below.
What Does Spirit Empress in Clash Royale Do?
There are about 120 cards inClash Royaleright now. Some are ground troops, and some, like Inferno Dragon, can fly. But the Spirit Empress is one of the most unique cards we’ve ever seen because she can actually be both.
If fans play her forthree elixir, she is a ground troop that uses a melee weapon and only attacks ground units, but if you spendsix elixir, you can use her as a flying troop instead.
How to Counter Spirit Empress in Clash Royale
The way you counter the Spirit Empress depends on how your opponent plays her. If she’s on the ground, players can counter her with swarm cards like Goblins, Spear Goblins, or Skeleton Army. You can also use ranged troops like Archers or Musketeer to target her from a safe distance, and at close range, you can use Knight,Mini PEKKA, or Valkyrie.
If you are dealing with the flying Spirit Empress, you’ll want to use cards that can shoot from a distance. Some options include Dart Goblin, Musketeer, and Hunter. But you need to keep some space because if she gets too close, she can take out your troops.
Clash Royaleplayers can also use flying cards like Inferno Dragon and Flying Machine to handle her. But make sure that you are placing your cards smartly.
You can also counter the Spirit Empress with buildings. Cards like Inferno Tower and Tesla work well against both her ground and flying forms. And yes, make sure to have some cheap cards in your deck, like Skeletons and Ice Spirit, to distract her.
Is Spirit Empress in Clash Royale Worth It?
The Spirit Empress sounds pretty cool, but honestly, she’s not that hard to counter. Her flying dragon form can be tough to deal with and does put some pressure on your opponent, but it costs a bigsix elixir. At that price, most players would rather go for something like Boss Bandit or Royal Giant since they usually give you more value for what you are spending.
Having said that, the best thing about Spirit Empress is her flexibility. If you are low on elixir, you can play her as a cheap ground troop. If you’ve got more elixir, you can go for the dragon rider.
The Spirit Empress is not officially available for all players at the moment. Once she’s fully released in the game, this guide will be updated to include the best decks to use with her.
