Player Mistakes
Back to All Characters
4-star characters inGenshin Impactcan be incredibly useful, or just not good enough to fit anywhere. It’s a weird situation where the devs could create a character that could break the game, likeBennett inGenshin Impact, or just be there for no reason, like Xinyan.
There are some 4-star units that sit in the middle with mediocre utility, like Dahlia, who isn’t amazing, but isn’t bad either. These kinds of 4-star characters are usually outshone by other 5-star units who can do the same and more. So, that gives extra importance to maximizing the efficiency of Dahlia, making sure he doesn’t make any mistakes when he’s operating during combat.

5Only Using Him As A Shielder
Dahlia is an acceptableshielder inGenshin Impact. Some players might give him priority when choosing a shielder for the team because he’s a Hydro character. However, there are a lot of better shielders than Dahlia, if the issue is to shield the team.
Characters likeZhongli inGenshin Impactcan shield the team for longer durations while providing extra offensive buffs and debuffs. Dahlia only becomes more useful as a shielder when players start getting more of his Constellations. And even then, it’s a loss in the team’s slot to use him just for the shield, without taking into consideration his other qualities.

4Not Using Noblesse Oblige
Supports inGenshin Impacthave a notable number of artifact sets to choose from. Some can even effectively use a couple of them. However, that’s not the case with Dahlia. He isn’t from Natlan and doesn’t have Nightsoul’s Blessing state, so the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set doesn’t work on him. He barely deals any DMG, so Hydro sets won’t work on him either. He’s a shielder, but can’t keep dealing DMG from his Elemental Skill, so the Tenacity of the Millelith set won’t work on him either.
The only and best option for Dahlia inGenshin Impactis to build him with the Noblesse Oblige set, as it provides his team a 20% extra ATK when he casts hisElemental Burst inGenshin Impact.

3Not Understanding His Role
As a4-star character inGenshin Impact, Dahlia’s entire kit revolves around his Elemental Burst. He doesn’t have any Hydro application besides two attacks he deals when he’s active through his Elemental Skill and Burst.
Dahlia’s main role is to provide ATK SPD to the DPS characters that need that kind of buff. He also provides a 20% extra ATK through the Noblesse Oblige set, making him a decentbuffer inGenshin Impact.

2Not Balancing Between His HP And Energy Recharge
Dahlia needs to reach 40,000 HP to be able to fully unlock the requirements of his fourth Ascension passive, which gives the active character up to 20% extra ATK SPD. For a 4-star, this is a hard milestone, especially when considering Dahlia doesn’t have a Signature weapon helping him reach it. Some players might focus on building Dahlia’s stats with HP% to make sure he reaches that 40k Max HP target. But that might take away Dahlia’s ability to cast his Elemental Burst on each rotation.
This is important because nobody wants to build a team where the Support unit is only able to help in every few rotations. For that, players must balance between Dahlia’s Max HP and Energy Recharge to ensure he’s as close as possible to 40K Max HP without losing his ability to cast his Elemental Burst on every rotation.

1Teaming Him With The Wrong Characters
As a character who increases his team’s ATK SPD, it’s important to know which characters work and don’t work with Dahlia inGenshin Impact. Having him paired with characters that depend on their Charged Attack, like Neuvillette, will not add anything to the team. Instead, it’s just going to waste a spot in that team.
Dahlia’s main idea as a Support is to buff ATK SPD and ATK%. So, he needs a character to benefit from these two buffs. Characters like Wanderer, Arlecchino, Razor, andSkirk can benefit from all these buffsDahlia can provide.
