Destiny 2: The Edge of Fatehas forever changed the way players earn gear and raise their Power level to enable the hardest endgame content available. Power is always an essential part of the grind forDestiny 2’s late game content, so players might want to know how it works and how they can get it quickly to prove that they arethe strongest Guardianin this newest expansion. With so many changes to Power level and the way Power is obtained through gear, returning players and new ones will find this guide useful as they advance into a new age ofDestiny 2.
How to Quickly Get to 200 Power in Destiny 2
200 Power is the soft cap for players to reach, and players can reach this Power level by obtaining Rare and Legendary loot and transferring the Power with Enhancement Cores. This is the base Power that every Guardian is trying to reach, since everyone starts from Power 10. The simplest thing to do for players who have purchasedThe Edge of Fateis to enter intoThe Edge of Fatecampaign via the Portal, and with the Legendary difficulty enabled. This might be a tad harder than the regular version, but it’s not that hard to complete, and it will grant extra rewards via the completion chests. Outside of the main campaign forThe Edge of Fate, players can also level up fast with the Power loot made available to them by completing the side missions found on Kepler. Players should be able to finish the campaign and the side missions with at least 150+ power, and in some cases, perhaps even 190+.
If players do not haveThe Edge of Fateexpansion or want to grind Power outside of the campaign and Kepler activities, then that’s exactly what the Portal is for. Pinnacle activities of the past are gone, which means players no longer need to use the Directory to look for planets and activities with Pinnacle gear. Older Raids, Dungeons, and even Vanguard Ops will not drop the gear players are looking for.

Instead, players will need to head to the Portal and look at the Ops in the bottom left corner. These operations range from Solo, Fireteam,Pinnacle, to Crucible. Each of these activities can be selected to find different missions where players are rewarded with Power drops upon completion. These activities are also farmable, meaning there is no daily or weekly limit to the amount of loot that players can get by running these Ops.
To effectively level up, players will want to look at the missions available in the Ops tab of their choice, and then hover over what’s been selected to look for what mission offers the most loot. Some missions should provide players with Bonus Drops, indicated by a green engram symbol. This means that by selecting and completing that mission, players will earn more loot drops than they would in another mission. Once players have selected a mission they are happy to run, they can customize the mission bychoosing the difficultyand selecting challenge modifiers. By making teh content more challenging, players will earn higher Power rewards. This means that players should always try to balance the Reward Rank to A, but without making it too hard to complete, so tweak the Challenge Modifiers to provide a healthy mix of positive and negative effects on the mission that will reward better loot, indicated by the engram number on the right.
How to Quickly Get to 450 Power in Destiny 2
With a seasonal cap of 450 Power inDestiny 2, players might want to know how they can best reach it. World drops will no longer grant the Power they need to proceed, so players are going to want to hit the harder content. Just like getting to 200 Power, players will want to use the Portal and select different Ops. Ops are by far the best way to get better Power gear, especially as players rise their Power and enable Expert and Master tier content, which provides a superior Reward Rank, especially when players make sure that they are using the right modifiers to hit A Rank rewards, which is easily achieved with modifiers like a Locked Loadout.
In the endgame loot grind, there’s more importance for Tier Loot. Tier Loot is obtained for both weapons and armor, and can be obtained through the world modifiers on Kepler. While players can also get them from Ops, they can reliably be obtained by heading to Kepler and selecting the Time Latch Missions. Players can then select Mythic on the activity to get Kepler Gear, which has a differentTier reward that dropswith superior stats and Power. Tier ranges from 1 to 5, and here are the stats players can expect:
Tier 5
Ops onhigher difficultiesand higher difficultyEdge of Fatecampaign missionsare easily the best sources to reach 450. However, this season is a long one, andDestiny 2is a marathon, not a sprint, so don’t feel like you need to reach 450+ Power immediately.
