How to Reach the Inventor
Players can get the Otter Hood inDeath Stranding 2by connecting the Inventor to the Chiral Network. The Inventor is a prepper who can be found in Australia, but players will have to wait until they have connected West Fort Knot, which isaround Order 12. Once players have connected West Fort Knot, head directly north, where they will find the Mine North of F1. Even further north of the Mine North of F1 is a small island surrounded by tar, and players must reach this island to get to the Inventor and claim the Otter Hood.
Players should not attempt to cross the ocean of tar without at least one piece of lost cargo for the Inventor, but luckily, the beach surrounding the Inventor’s home should have quite a few pieces of lost cargo. Players do not need to achieve any stars with the Inventor, but they must deliver a package in order to connect him to the Chiral Network to receive the Otter Hood.
To safely cross the tar and reach the Inventor, players can use the Odradek scanner with L1 to show where it is safe to walk. Players will want to follow the path marked in yellow from the scanner, as stepping in the red zones will cause them tosink into the tar and die. Simply follow the yellow path through repeated scans with L1 to reach the Inventor’s shelter, where players can connect him to the Chiral Network and receive the Otter Hood.
How to Use the Otter Hood in Death Stranding 2
Once players have received their gift from the Inventor, they can equip the Otter Hood just like any other hat from the customization menu in the options, or simply by pressing Left on the D-Pad. However, the Otter Hood only shows when players are swimming and when there is timefall rain; otherwise, it cannot be used as a standard cap.
