Normal-type Eevee is known for its branching evolutions and its adorable looks. You’ve likely caught an Eevee inPokemon GO, since they’re not exactly rare, but they’re not common either. If you were really lucky, you might have nabbed yourself a Shiny Eevee.
Unlike regular Eevee, Shiny Eevee’s coat is silver rather than the trademark brown. Shiny odds are low inPokemon GO, just as they are in the mainline games. However, certain in-game events can increase your chances of finding a Shiny Eevee. July 5-6 2025’s Community Day is a great opportunity for you to look for Shiny Eevees.
Where to Find Shiny Eevee in Pokemon GO
You don’t have access to key items like the Shiny Charm inPokemon GO, but that doesn’t make Shiny Hunting impossible. Your best bet for getting a Shiny Eevee is totap any Eevee spawns on your mobile device’s screen. As a Normal-type, Eevee is more likely to appear in Partly Cloudy weather.
During “Community Day Classic: Eevee (July 2025)”, there will be an increase in Eevee spawns from2:00pm - 5:00pm. This event runs from July 5th 2025 and July 6th 2025, giving you plenty of time to catch a Shiny Eevee. When the event starts, your in-game map will be crowded with Eevees if you’re in a public area.
SelecteveryEevee on your screen during its Community Day. If none of them are shiny, you’re able to try placing aLure Moduleon a nearby Pokestop or using Incense. Effects of a Lure Module last 30 minutes; Incense lasts for an hour. However, if you’re selecting every Eevee spawn, you’re bound to get at least one Shiny Eevee.
You should keep walking to get more Eevees to appear. It’s also recommended you catch the regular Eevees during the “Community Day Classic: Eevee” event to complete the Timed and Special Research,andto farm Eevee Candies. You’ll need Eevee Candies to evolve, unlock the second Charge Move, and power up your Shiny Eeveeand its respective evolutions.
Daily Incense will sometimes summon Pokemon outside the Community Day Event. Meaning you could get a Pokemon other than Eevee.
How to Evolve Shiny Eevee
If you’re planning on getting a shiny form of each Eeveelution, you’re going to need 8 Shiny Eevees. In fact, you’ll likely need more than 8 Shiny Eevees since the chances of getting Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon are randomized.
If you haven’t used the nickname trick yet, then you can nickname your Eevee with the name that corresponds to the appropriate Eeveelution.
This method only works once per evolution, so if you’ve alreadyused the nickname trickfor all 8 Eeveelutions, you won’t be able to do so again.

Eevee requires 25 Eevee Candy to evolve regardless of the Eeveelution. However, you’ll be expected to complete an extra step to get the evolution you want:
Evolve Eevee with 25 Eevee Candies (33% chance).
Espeon
Have Eevee as your buddy, walk 10km, then evolve itduring the day.
Umbreon
Have Eevee as your buddy, walk 10km, then evolve itat night.
Leafeon
Place a Moss Lure on a nearby Pokestop, then evolve Eevee.
Glaceon
Place a Glacial Lure on a nearby Pokestop, then evolve Eevee.
Have 70 hearts with an Eevee(buddy).
