Rotting Lightbringer is one of the Unique items added toDiablo 4in Season 9, and it supercharges one of the best Druid Werebear builds in the game. It can easily serve as the cornerstone for endgame setups, and if you know where to look, it shouldn’t be that hard to find.
Farming for the Rotting Lightbringer should feel like farming for mostother Uniques inDiablo 4. The process still involves a whole lot of luck, but if you want to maximize your chances of getting it, here’s what you need to do.
How to Farm the Rotting Lightbringer in Diablo 4
This Unique Two-Handed Mace is one of the potential drops from eitherUrivar or Varshan. The former can be found in his lair west of Kichuk in Kurast, while the latter is in the underground cave next to the Tree of Whispers.
It’s up to you to decide which boss you fight. Their drop tables share a fair number of items, but if you have something else you want to get, verify toconsult boss loot tables.
Players can fight Lair Bosses as many times as they want, but if they want to get any meaningful loot out of their attempts, they’ll need to open the Boss Hoards that appear after the fight.
Boss materials can also be bough from Fayira in The Den for Pale Marks. They can also be farmed via Kurast Undercity runs with the Tribute of Titans.
Belial
After you open a Boss Hoard, there’s a chance that Belial will appear as a follow-up boss fight. By beating him here, you’ll get another set of drops from the same boss you fought previously, and you’ll likely get some Betrayer’s Husks too. You can use the latter toopen Belial’s Hoard, which appears afterbeating him in his lair in Kehjistan.
Opening Belial’s Hoard requires two Betrayer’s Husks.
How Good is Rotting Lightbringer in Diablo 4?
Rotting Lightbringer is a Unique weapon that greatly augmentsthe Werebear Pulverize skill. This makes it so that Pulverize createspoison puddles that guarantee Overpower procs. Casting Pulverize again on a puddle causes that puddle tosplash and deal damage in an area around it.
This is somewhat similar to the Earthquake HotA build for Barbarians with the Mantle of Mountain’s Fury Unique. Rotting Lightbringer builds are a little faster though, given the nature of Pulverize builds that are usually paired with Trample. The added Poison damage from Pulverize builds and Rotting Lightbringer also makes it very good against bosses.
