Your job as a trainer at Tracen Academy doesn’t end after helping horsegirls complete their careers and win the URA Finale inUmamusume Pretty Derby. In fact, the most exciting part of your work begins afterward when you need to build a strong team of Veteran Umamusume for Team Trials.
Having a high-rank horsegirl on your side increases your Team Rank and helps you earn both Main Story and Team Rank rewards, including plenty of Carats forunlocking more Charactersand Support Cards. That’s why creating strong horsegirls is especially important. For those wondering, this guide will explain how to get an A Rank or higher Umas inUmamusume Pretty Derby.
How to Get A-Rank in Umamusume Pretty Derby
Most free-to-play players can easily score a B or B+ on their horsegirls after their careers wrap up, but the real challenge is reaching an A or A+ rank. It takes a good amount of strategy and effort to hit that mark.
To be more specific, you’ll need to raise your horsegirl’s overall rating to at least 10,000 to reach A rankinUmamusume Pretty Derby. Ratings are calculated at the end of her career and are based on how many attribute points and skill scores (which are different from skill points) she managed to earn. So if you’re aiming for an A-rated Uma, you’ll need to focus on building up her stats and skills in a smart way.
How to Get More Attribute Points in Umamusume Pretty Derby
Attribute Points are the jump your horsegirl gets in areas like Speed, Stamina, Power, Guts, and Wit. To get an A-rank Umamusume, you’ll need at leastone SS+andone B+ or A in her attributes, which will contribute greatly toward the 10,000 rating goal. This is doable if you focus on increasing two of the stats heavily during her career (ideally Speed and Wit).
But before heading into training, you’ll need astrong deck of Support Cards. These give your horsegirl free stats and skill hints just by training with them in the career mode. Go for SSR or SR cards in Speed and Wit (or whatever two stats you plan to build significantly). Also, choosehigh-rank Legacy Parents, preferably three-star with matching aptitudes and double or triple-circle Affinity, who have the same stats you’re targeting. These giveextra stat points for free through Sparksat the beginning and throughout training.
Once that’s set, keep focusing on the two stats you picked(like Speed and Wit). Try totrain in sessions where a bunch of your support friendsare gathered. Plus, instead of wasting turns on resting, go forWit training to recover energy, unless, of course, the bar drops too low. This is especially handy during Summer sessions, when training gives double stat points.
Make sure to unlockFriendship Trainingwith all your support cards early by training in sessions where most of them show up. These give way morebonus points than regular sessionsand will speed up your road to A-rank.
How to Increase Skill Rating in Umamusume Pretty Derby
The second biggest contributor to your horsegirl’s overall profile rating, and to getting her an A-rank, is her Skill Score. These are the points her unique and learned skills add to her total rating. While the game doesn’t give an official chart, you’re able to definitely raise this stat by firstupgrading your Uma’s main skill(also called Unique Skill), thentrain her in abilities she has A’s in.
For example, you’ll want tounlock three stars on your Uma, then spend your Skill Points on traits that build her strengths. Daiwa Scarlet is a Pace-Chaser (with an A in Pace), so buying the Preferred Position is a great pick.
Only go for skills your character is exceptional in (A or S-rated aptitudes), andavoid stacking the same abilityagain and again; repeated traits give fewer Skill Rating points than new ones. If a particular skill costs too much, it’s better to hold off until you see a Skill Discount. That way, you won’t waste your hard-earned Skill Points.
