Killing Floor 3’scast of characters adds a splash of personality to an otherwise grim and grungy world, and if you aren’t satisfied with how they look, you always have the option to customize their appearance. This system isn’t that different to how it worked in the previous game, and it’s a good way for players to show off their in-game progress and achievements.
This guide covers how you can customize your Specialist inKilling Floor 3as well as how you can unlock more skins for future use.
How to Change Character Skins in KF3
You can start changing your Specialist’s appearance directly after finishing the tutorial. To do so,press Tab while standing by in the Stronghold, then navigate to thePerk tabon the upper-left side of the screen. Here, you’ll find theCosmetics tabas well as the Skills and Perk Select buttons.
All of your unlocked Headgear, Outfits, and Title Cards can be found inside the Cosmetics menu. You’re free to mix and match whatever’s available, but keep in mind that Cosmetics are Specialist-exclusive. You can’t make Devlin wear Foster’s suits and vice versa.
Skins are purely cosmetic and have no effect inKilling Floor 3’scombat.
How to Unlock Cosmetics in Killing Floor 3
You can find more Headgear, Outfits, and Title Cards eitherthrough the Store or the Supply Pass. The Store contains all of the premium skins and DLCs in the game, while the Supply Pass is essentiallyabattle pass that uses a ticket-based unlock system.
To unlock more skins through the Supply Pass, you’ll need to play the game and earn Supply Tickets. Earning XP through missions will also net you Supply Pass XP for your next Supply Ticket. With that being said, your best bet at getting Supply Tickets quickly is toplay on high difficulties and to complete Assignments.
Harder difficulties reward more XP, but these are usuallyrecommended only for players who have upgraded their Perks and have unlocked decent weapon loadouts. If you’re able to’t comfortably clear missions on Hard and Hell on Earth, then you’re better off grinding Normal mode. Not only would that be more time-efficient, but it’ll also save you a lot of frustration, asKF3’sevolved Zedscan prove to be quite problematic.
Assignments
If you really want to get big chunks of XP after every mission, you’ll need to complete Assignments, which are just small objectives that you can track before leaving for a match. You’ll naturally complete some of these as you play the game normally, but it’s still good practice to check the Assignments list before starting a mission.
Assignments refresh on a daily and weekly basis. Primary Directives, on the other hand, do not expire.
