Even in single-player games, there are often opportunities for players to customize some elements of their gameplay to some extent. Even if itis just cosmetic customization, it is still a choice that players are given. The firstDeath Strandinghad a lot of customization options when it came to color and decorations, andDeath Stranding 2kept this element of customization as well. Not only do you have more hats to choose from this time around, but all the customization options have returned for the sequel. But if there is one customization option that other players will see, it will be how you customize the structures you build with the PCC.
Minor spoilers for the early chapters of Death Stranding 2 below, proceed with caution.
How to Customize Structures in Death Stranding 2
You won’t have to wait long to start customizing any structures you build around the routes you gradually establish. Once you have access to the PCC, you will be able to build and customize your structures. However, you won’t be able to just build and then decorate.
After you’ve built a structure, you will then need to gather the materials needed to upgrade it to its second level. The material needed will vary. Bridges will take more, while a generator (as an example) will only require 400 Metal to upgrade. Once the upgrade is finished, you will be to customize what hologram appears next to your structure. You will only have a few at the start, but as you do more deliveries and progress through the game, you will eventually unlock more options.
You can also customize another player’s structures as well.
Customization Options For Structures in Death Stranding 2
At the start, you will only be able to customize what hologram appears. But once you haveadded the Musician to the Chiral Network, you will gain the ability to customize what music plays around your structure as well. Aside from this, you also gain the ability to listen to music in the menu itself as well.
Unlike the limited selection of holograms, you start out with a lot more songs available for what plays around your structure. This includes a variety of songs by WOODKID, Gen Hoshino, Caroline Polachek, and, of course, Low Roar.
You can switch your customizations for both the hologram and music at any time, and it doesn’t cost any materials to replace them.
