A new age of tools has come toMinecraft, and it’s the first time players can craft new armor, tools, and weapons since the Nether update in 2020 that brought Netherite into the game as the most powerful crafting ingredient. While the Copper tools that players can create aren’t nearly as powerful as Netherite, it’s a nice stepping stone to help players evolve more naturally in their journey for the valuable resource.
If players want to know how to get Copper tools, armors, weapons, and chests inMinecraft, then they can find the recipes for each of them below, along with some helpful tips to see if it’s even worth crafting these items in the first place.
Players can currently only create these Copper items in Minecraft Preview by selecting a new world and then scrolling to Experiments to activate Drop 3 2025.

Copper Armor can be crafted with a Crafting Bench via the same recipes that are followed with Leather/Iron/Gold/Diamond, except players will need Copper Ingots instead. Copper Ingots are easy to obtain, as players can enter any cave and find Copper Veins, where mining themwith a Stone Pickaxeor above will provide Copper Ore, which can be smelted into Copper Ingots at a Furnace. Copper Armor is a nice stepping stone in the chain, as it’s better than Leather Armor, but has less durability and damage absorption than Iron Armor and above.

Copper weapons and tools are crafted with the same recipe as other weapons and tools, but substitute the Stone/Iron/Gold/Diamondfor Copper Ingots. Copper tools and weapons are slightly better than Stone tools and weapons, boasting a faster speed at mining and harvesting, along with greater damage for attacking and further durability, but they are notsuperior to Iron gearand above.
Copper Ingot
The Copper Chest can be crafted with the recipe above, but the recipe can only be obtained in-game once players have crafted their first Copper Golem with a Carved Pumpkin and a Block of Copper. After the Copper Chest recipe has been discovered, players are free to create a Copper Chest with 8 Copper Ingots and 1 Chest in the center of the Crafting Table. Copper Chests are basically identical to standard Chests and can become double Copper Chests, but they are mainly used as a sorting block for Copper Golems.
