Warhammer 40K: Darktideis all about completing missions, getting new gear, and purging heretics, and beyond all the glorious carnage players get to wallow in during their tour in Atoma, there’s still a tiny element of roleplay to consider.
During character creation, players get to customize more than just their character’s appearance, and that includes some backstory options and, of course, their character’s name. If you feel like you’ve named your Reject wrong inDarktide, here’s a quick and easy solution for you to try out.
How to Change Your Reject’s Name inWH40K: Darktide
There’s only one way to change your character’s name inDarktide, and that’s touse the Personality Scourge option at the Chirurgeon. This lets you change almost every part of your character, from their backstory, appearance, and their name. It basically throws you back into character creation. However, Personality Scourge will not let you change your class.
If you’re playing as an Arbitrator, taking a Personality Scourge will also let you rename your Cyber Mastiff.
Normally, the Chirurgeon’s service is free. But, if you choose to get a Personality Scourge,you’ll be charged 50,000 Ordo Docketsafter you confirm your changes. That’s a lot of money fornewDarktideplayers, and considering how expensive things can get when it comes to upgrading gear or buying new pieces of equipment, newcomers may want to hold off on getting a Personality Scourge until they can get their hands on good weapons.
There’sno limit to how many Personality Scourges one character can undergo, but the Ordo Docket cost can be costly if players somehow decide to take multiple scourges. Apart from changing your character’s name, Personality Scourges will also let you change their gender and voice. If you want to make minor edits to your character’s hairstyle, eye color, scars, and tattoos, choose theChirurgeon’s Modify Appearance optioninstead.
If you haven’t leveled up your character much and you want to make major edits to them, it may be better to just make a new one, so you’re able to save some Ordo Dockets. Leveling up doesn’t take that long, but do keep in mind that ever since theBattle of Tertiumupdate, Malice difficulty and above will be locked for new characters regardless of your actual account’s progress.
You’ll be able to skip the campaign with a new character, but you won’t be able to hop onto any difficulty past Uprising. To unlock higher difficulty levels, you need to play several missions in your current highest difficulty.
