Dune Awakeningallows players to build their basesin the Hagga Basin, the main PvE region, to store all their materials, gear, and set up refineries. Up until the Duraluminum tier, your Hagga Basin base will be enough to help you progress further into the game. However, to reach the Plastanium tier, you’ll need to head out to the Deep Desert to acquire Titanium, Stravidium Mass, and Spice Sand.
While Deep Desert is50% PvE and 50% PvP, most of the resources are found in the latter half of the region. It can become quite hectic to store resources and haul them back to your Hagga Basin base. So, you’ll need a Deep Desert base to quickly get materials, process them, and take the processed materials (which are lighter) back to Hagga Basin base. Here’s everything you need to know to build a base out in the Deep Desert inDune Awakening.
Where Should You Build Your Deep Desert Base in Dune Awakening?
The Deep Desert region inDune Awakeningwas10% PvE and 90% PvPat launch. However, with the recent update, the layout was tweaked to be 50% PvP and 50% PvE, which has made the Deep Desert a lot more welcoming to the overall playerbase.
The Deep Desert features a huge map divided into a 9x9 grid. The PvP and PvE sections of the Deep Desert are separated by the “E” row, withrows A to E (first half) being the PvE section, and rows E (other half) to I being the PvP sectors.
It’s recommended to build your base in the PvE sections to avoid it getting raided by other players when a sandstorm hits. Once you’ve scouted a perfect rocky landmass for your base, make sure to get some salvaged metal andplace a regular or Advanced Sub-Fiefto stake your claim to the location.
How to Build a Deep Desert Base in Dune Awakening
One of the best things about building a base in the Deep Desert is that thebuilding cost is halved for everything. Whether it’s Granite, Plastone, or any other resources used to make refineries and storage, it’ll require half the resources compared to building it in the Hagga Basin.
Here’s a list of items that are a must-have to kickstart your Deep Desert base to refine Spice Sand and Plastanium.
Granite Stone (CHOAM) or Plastone (Faction Base Building Set)
14 Generators
23 x 14 = 322 Salvaged Metal
The ideal power output should be around 1000. You achieve this with either generators or wind turbines. Generators are ideal as they run on simple fuel cells.
120 x 2 = 240 Duraluminum Ingots
125 x 2 = 250 Silicon Blocks
35 x 2 = 70 Calibrated Servoks
3 x 2 = 6 Spice Melange
Windtraps will be the primary source of water in the deep desert, as other methods won’t be viable. you may increase the number of Windtraps per requirement.
74 x 3 = 222 Duraluminum Ingots
80 x 3 = 240 Silicon Blocks
13 x 3 = 39 Industrial Pumps
One Large Water Cistern can store up to 100,000 liters of water. 300,000 liters is a good point to start the refining process, as you’ll need water for drinking, making Stravidium Fibers, producing Plastanium, and creating Spice Melange.
23 x 3 = 69 Aluminum Ingots
4 x 3 = 12 Silicon Blocks
These will be used to store all the raw, processed, and other various loot you’ll get in the Deep Desert.
25 Complex Machinery
18 Spice Melange
It will be primarily used to refine Stravidium Mass into Stravidium Fiber and for occasional fuel cells.
30 Cobalt Paste
It’ll primarily be used to create Plastanium from Stravidium Fiber and Titanium.
40 Cobalt Paste
35 Complex Machinery
You should start with a small Spice Refinery until you get 68 Spice Melange. After that, you should invest resources in creating a Medium Spice Refinery, which willnet you more Spice Melange per Spice Sandand use less water.
To be specific, Small Spice Refinery turns 100 Spice Sands into 1 Spice Melange, whereas Medium Spice Refinery turns 750 Spice Sands into 10 Spice Melange. Medium Spice Refinery is 33% more efficient than a small one.
10 Cobalt Paste
3 Calibrated Servoks
APentalshield will mainly be used to protect your Ornithopterfrom the effects of Deep Desert Sandstorms.
So, this is everything you’ll need to get your Deep Desert base up and running inDune Awakening. It’s recommended to use an Assault Ornithopter to transfer everything from Hagga Basin to the Deep Desert due to its1000-volume storage capacitycompared to 500v on Scout.
Every week, theCoriolis Storm will wipe out everything in the Deep Desert, and you’ll lose your base and everything in it. So, you should transfer everything back to Hagga Basin, preferably four to five hours before the Coriolis Storm, to ensure you can craft another base right back up after the server wipe.
