Unfortunately, years have passed, and the game does not have an official release date yet. Now, fans have discovered thatHollow Knight: Silksong’s Steam page gained five manual updates in less than 48 hours. According toSteamDB, the first of these updates happened on July 2, and it was followed by two on July 3 and two more on the following day. While this does not mean much by itself, it’s certainly something that caught the attention of the fanbase. Fans on social media were divided, with some mildly excited about these updates, while others remained skeptical. Some even joked that the game would be out “tomorrow,” making fun of how hopeful the fanbase once was.

Understandably, fans are tired of waiting forHollow Knight: Silksong. Back in April, for example,Hollow Knight: Silksong’s page had a few Steam updates, and excited fans were disappointed to see that the title had still not been released around three months after these updates.
At least, as shown in the recent Xbox Games Showcase,Hollow Knight: Silksongwill launch before the release of ROG Xbox Ally, which is scheduled to be out late in 2025. Obviously, delays can always happen, but it’s unlikely that the game would be featured in so many presentations if Team Cherry was not confident that the project was finally nearing its launch.
It’s still unknown howHollow Knight: Silksongwill compare to its predecessor. The originalHollow Knightwas largely considered one of themost influential Metroidvania games ever, so the fanbase will certainly be expecting an amazing experience. In any case, it’s possible that the title will be a big hit, and hopefully it’ll really come out in the next few months.
