Summary
After the two-week-long Summer seasonal update inGrow a Garden, the devs have dropped a dinosaur-themed Prehistoric Update, followed by a second part that builds on the same material. This time around, not only is Sam back at the seed shop with all of your favorite crops, but there are also eight brand-new seeds up for grabs. One of them evenoutshines Candy Blossomwhen it comes to the selling price.

The 1.14.0 Pet Mutation update is just an expansion of the Prehistoric 1.13.0 update. It mostly has the same tasks, like doing prehistoric quests and making Dino Eggs, with a few small upgrades and new mechanics.
Prehistoric Event Quest and Rewards
The Prehistoric event brings a bunch of quests you’ll need to wrap up at thePre-Historic Quest Standto earn some fantastic rewards. The tasks are pretty simple, like harvesting, planting crops, or aging pets. After the 1.14.0 update, you’ll getthree basic questsandtwo bonusones to help you move forward on the prize track. Here’s a list of all the possible quest tasks:
It’s a good idea to keep a stock of therequired ingredients(seeds, crops, eggs, money, and sprinklers) ready so you can end the tasks within the time slot. They tend to refresh roughly every 12 hours.
To be eligible for rewards, you’ll need tofinish the aforementioned quests a certain number of times. If you’re unsure how it works,this guide can help. Once you start reaching the required quest milestones, you’ll receive the following prizes:

DNA Machine and Its Upgrades
The second big thing in the Prehistoric updates is the DNA Machine. There’s a scientist named Graham running it, and he uses your pets' DNA tocreate Dinosaur Eggs for you; sometimes, he might even hand you a dinosaur directly.Just give him critters for his research, like the Golden Lab, Bees, Bunny, and more. He’ll accept anything except dinosaur pets.
You canupgrade the DNA Machine up to six timesto unlock perks like access to another Dino Egg called the Primal Egg, getting more eggs from Graham, and even reducing the time it takes to make eggs. Here’s a quick look at all the upgrades and their costs:

Once you level up your device,you’ll start getting a mix of Dinosaur and Primal Eggs, though most of the time, you’ll get Primal ones. If you’ve got at least one Bone Blossom seed, you can easily craft the egg you want at the quest crafting table. If not, it’s probably not the best idea to rush the upgrades, especially if you’re aiming for Dinosaur pets like the T-Rex.

Along with the Ancient Seed Pack crops, you can also craft and collectsome prehistoric plant seedsinGrow a Garden. Right now,Bone Blossom is way more profitable than Candy Blossom, it gives you 875,000 Sheckles in a single harvest, even without any mutations. So, you finally have a seed that makes up for it. It’s also event-exclusive, so be sure to grab it before it disappears.

Pet Mutations
On the left side of the Pet Eggs stall, you’ll find a new Pet Mutations machine.It takes in pets aged 50 years or older and gives them different variants. The results are RNG-based, so it really depends on your luck which mutation your pet ends up with.

Latest Crop Mutations
The 1.13.0 update introduced four new mutations. The table below explains each one and how you’re able to get them on your crops:
Clay Mutation
2x Value
InGrow a Garden, when yourWet fruits also become Sandy, they automatically gain Clay Mutation. This replaces the Wet and Sandy multipliers. It isn’t usually worth keeping unless you’re aiming for the Ceramic Mutation.
Sandy Mutation

DuringSandstorm weather, some of your crops will turn Sandy, increasing their selling value.
Amber Mutation

To get the Amber Mutation inGrow a Garden, eitherleave a Raptorin your garden or use anAmber Mutation Sprayon your fruits. This variant makes your fruit 10 times more profitable.

Once yourhanging fruit has the Amber mutation for 24 hours, it’ll transform into this variant.

The Summer Traveling Merchant
During the Prehistoric update, there’s a chance for the Summer Traveling Merchant to show up everyfour hoursinGrow a Garden.The best part is that she’s offering all the summer crops in herSummer Seed Shop. If you missed out on them during the last update, now’s the perfect chance to grab them.

Just like the Summer Merchant, the Honey Merchant might also appear in the game every four hours, offering a unique set of crops.
