However, navigating the Hatchery Anthill can be tricky, as while you’ll come across plenty of standard Red Ant Eggs, you’ll have to search deep within the maze of tunnels to find Red Soldier Ant Eggs specifically.
You’ll also need to gather several other crafting resources to make a Hatchery inGrounded 2before you can get the Red Soldier Ant Buggy, and making an Ant Nest is also important. Where to Find Red Soldier Ant Eggs in Grounded 2
Red Soldier Ant Egg Location (Hatchery Anthill)
To find Red Soldier Ant Eggs inGrounded 2, it’s best tosearch inside the Hatchery Anthillas part of theEgg Hunt quest, which begins after you get theHatchery Blueprintsin Hatching a Plan, giving you the following recipes:
You can find theSouth Entrance to the Hatchery Anthillsoutheast of the Ranger Station, as pictured above. Follow the maze-like paths deep inside the Anthill until you find red-coloredRed Soldier Ant Eggsat the end, ignoring any standard white Red Ant Eggs along the way.
you may find a small group of5 Red Soldier Ant Eggsin the room past thelarge Ominent Lab door with the red and green lightsand the Red Soldier Ant Egg behind the glass display. To find it, go inside this lab, turn right, and through the door opposite, then follow the red-lit corridor around to the left to find the Red Soldier Ant Eggsby the trolley in the large cave area ahead.
To reach this area, it’s easy to get lost, so it’s best to follow the wires on the ceiling as a guide, but you’ll know you’re in the right place once you’repast the big 9V Battery in the ground. It’s worth noting that you can only carry one Red Soldier Ant Egg at a time to transport it back to your base, plus you’ll need to run or fight your way back the way you came. There are many Red Soldier Ants to fight along the way in and out, so make sure you come prepared with armor, torches, weapons, andhealing items like Fiber Bandagesto top up your health, plus snack on anyGrumble Granola Barswhile exploring.
Once you’ve got a Red Soldier Ant buggy, you can get it to do the work and carry a Red Soldier Ant Egg for you. It may also be possible to find other Red Soldier Ant Eggs inside other Anthills acrossGrounded 2’s map, but the Hatchery Anthill is the best starting point.
Although there are plenty of Slime Mold Stalks inside to craft on-the-go Slime Mold Torches while exploring, it’s best to bring plenty of torches with you for convenience, as they won’t last long. You could also craft a lean-to near the Anthill entrance as a nearby respawn point in case things get hairy, as the game suggests. While exploring any Anthill, it’s also worth grabbing other ant loot, such as Red Ant Parts, which you’ll need tocraft the Omni-Wrenchif you don’t already have one.

Once you’ve gathered everything above, use the radial crafting menu to craft and place a Hatchery on any suitable surface at your base, adding the Weed Stems one at a time as needed or super-build the structure.
Once complete, interact with the Hatchery andselect the ‘Incubate’ buttonto begin the hatching process, which takes12 in-game hours. When the time is up, press the ‘Retrieve’ button on the hatchery to hatch your very first Red Soldier Ant buggy to name and tame!
How to Tame Red Soldier Ants in Grounded 2
Once you’ve got a buggy like the Red Soldier Ant, it becomes your tamed mount with several possiblecommands and actions:
When riding your buggy, you can alsocarry a torch, plus perform someattack and defense moves, includingsimple attacks, charged attacks, blocks, and perfect blocks. You can also enterGather Modewhen riding your buggy to collect loose items from the ground like a vacuum, plus press the’Recruit' buttonto get other red ants to follow you (pressing the same button again to dismiss them) unless they are already attacking.
Additionally, you can also use the Red Soldier Ant buggy tocarry certain items for you, such asRed Soldier Ant Eggs, plus press thesprint buttonto temporarily run like the wind and cover more ground faster. You can also use Red Soldier Ant buggies tobreak Dead Roots (Tier 1)in locations like the Snackbar Anthill and Hatchery Anthill, with some of these leading toMega Milk Molars.
If you return to the Hatchery Anthill on the Red Soldier Ant buggy, other ants will only attack you if you attack first, dismount the buggy, or steal any ant eggs.
How to Name and Summon Your Buggy in Grounded 2
To name your buggy inGrounded 2and assign it to your summoning wheel, you need to make anAnt Nestusing the resources below, which also acts as a cozy spot for it to rest:
Once built, you can use the Ant Nest to store your buggy and change its name byselecting the ‘Rename’ button(RB if playingGrounded 2on Xbox consoles). You can also use the Ant Nest toassign your buggy to the radial summoning wheelby selecting the ‘Summon Option’, letting you summon it while out exploring if you don’t take it with you, or press ‘Withdraw Buggy’ to retrieve it from the nest.
Altogether, there are currently six Buggy slots in the Ant Nest, but four ant slots and four spider slots in the summoning wheel. Tap right on the D-pad tosummon your chosen buggywhile out exploring the park, and it’ll come running to meet you. You can also command it to return to its nest by tapping B. Fortunately, if it takes too much damage and gets knocked out in combat, there areseveral things you can do to revive your buggyand be on your way again.
