Obsidian Entertainment has revealed the PC system requirements forGrounded 2, which won’t ask much from older systems on minimum settings but will need a fairly powerful rig to run at its best.Grounded 2’s release is just around the corner, and with the system requirements revealed, fans can double-check ahead of time whether the game will work on their PCs or if they need to update them.
Launching in early access on July 29 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, with day-one availability on Game Pass,Grounded 2is the sequel to Obsidian’s backyard survival hit. It is set two years after the first game and brings players a larger world to explore with new features, resources, enemies, and much more. Players will also find expanded crafting mechanics, a better combat system with dodging and smarter AI, and much more detailed environments powered by Unreal Engine 5. Now, the developer has let players know whatGrounded2 will demand from their PCs.
Grounded 2’s minimum requirements ask for a fairly modest setup: either an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or an Intel i5-8400 processor, alongside 16 GB of RAM. For graphics, players will need at least an AMD RX 5700, Nvidia GTX 1070, or an Intel Arc A580, all of which are older or mid-range GPUs by today’s standards. It also needs at least 40 GB of free storage space—which is nothing compared tothe biggest PC games' file sizes.

For those who want to enjoyGrounded 2’s gameplay and storyat its best, though, they’ll need something quite a bit more powerful, as Obsidian recommends a Ryzen 5 5600X or an Intel i7-10700K, also with 16 GB of RAM. When it comes to the GPU, an AMD RX 6800 XT or an Nvidia RTX 3080 will do the trick, offering smooth and consistent performance.
Despite these beefier recommended requirements, the truth is thatGrounded 2’s minimum specs don’t ask for much—especially compared to othermodern video game releases. Although the sequel saw a jump in its hardware requirements, it makes sense given what Obsidian teased during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase, showing off a starting area that’s as large as the entire map of the original game. As players wait for the release ofGrounded 2on July 29, they still have a few weeks to verify their PC can run the game.
