Genshin Impacthas revealed the cast of Nod-Krai in a recent trailer, as long-awaited characters such as Sandrone, Columbina, Varka, and Alice will finally enter the spotlight in the upcoming Song of the Welkin Moon. With the Natlan era coming to a close,Genshin Impactis slowly setting the stage for the next chapter of the Traveler’s journey across Teyvat. Unlike previous regions, Nod-Krai will feature no Archon, but will instead center its storyline on the Song of the Welkin Moon – implied to last a full year.
This storyline was designed to tie up any loose ends before the final confrontation with the Tsaritsa takes place, as the Traveler and Paimon will find themselves in Nod-Krai, a land of opportunity located on the southern borders of Snezhnaya. While the Fatui and the Knights of Favonius were guaranteed to be key players in the coming conflict,Nod-Krai inGenshin Impactwill also bring the Hexenzirkel into the fold – with both Nicole and Alice making their in-game appearances at last.
The trailer also revealednewGenshin Impactcharacters, such as Flins, Jahoda, and Nefer. Flins is part of the Lightkeepers and rumored to be the second playable Nod-Krai character, after Ineffa in Version 5.8. The second half of Version 6.0 is expected to feature Lauma, who made another appearance in the new trailer. Varka, Columbina, Sandrone, and Durin all showcased their designs, with Varka in particular brandishing his Wolf’s Gravestone.
Genshin Impact: Song of the Welkin Moon Character Reveal
A few of the characters also had their Elemental Visions confirmed, such as Flins being Electro, Durin being Pyro, Varka being Anemo, and Nefer being Dendro. While this certainly lines up with earlier leaks, it should be noted that Lauma changed from Geo to Dendro in her final design, meaning that players should still be open to surprises. Curiously, the trailer lists Columbina as a Moon Maiden rather than aFatui Harbinger inGenshin Impact, implying that she has indeed betrayed Pierro in favor of pursuing her own agenda.
The trailer ends with Alice, Albedo, and Wanderer on the docks of Nasha Town, with the latter parting ways to settle an old score. Whereas previous regions largely had self-contained Archon Quests, Nod-Krai seems to be interested in furthering the storylines of other nations on top of its own. It remains to be seen how thisambitious direction for Nod-Krai inGenshin Impactwill play out, but players can look forward to experiencing it firsthand on June 22, 2025.
