Recent datamining from theGenshin Impactbeta servers has revealed a detailed overview of the upcoming Spiral Abyss from Version 5.8, featuring a focus on Lunar-Charged and Nightsoul DMG. While the Stygian Onslaught and the Imaginarium Theater have added to the endgame experience inGenshin Impact, the Spiral Abyss remains its core. It puts the player’s skill to the test and often requires them to invest in characters from the current Event Banners.
Though theSpiral Abyss inGenshin Impacthas evolved with the game itself, many players feel that the hit point inflation on Floor 12 has gone overboard in the Natlan era. Compared to Version 4.8, Version 5.8 has an increase of 88.35% in total hit points on Floor 12, requiring players to deal almost twice as much damage to clear in time. While the reintroduction of Ley Line Disorders to Floor 12 has allowed players to close the gap, the blessings are designed in a way that solely benefits currently featured 5-Star characters.
According to HomDGCat, Version 5.8 will primarily be designed with Ineffa in mind, featuring both a Lunar-Charged blessing and the new Electro-Charged world boss. The second half will once again benefit Melt teams from Natlan, but Varesa in an Overload team should also do well. The first half may be doable with Neuvillette, as many of its chambers will feature multiple enemies per wave. In terms of how this aligns with theEvent Banners in Version 5.8 ofGenshin Impact, both Citlali and Chasca are potential pieces of a Melt team.
Curiously, the community views this Spiral Abyss as being easier than the last few cycles. From the second half of April,Genshin Impactheavily promoted Freeze teams in the Spiral Abyss, which meant that players who invested in Escoffier had a much easier time than those who did not. The second half of August will be the first time in four months thatFreeze teams inGenshin Impactwon’t have an advantage in the Spiral Abyss, allowing other playstyles to shine once again.
The Spiral Abyss in Version 5.8 will last until June 09, 2025, which will overlap with the launch of Nod-Krai. While no characters have been confirmed by official sources, the latest leaks point towards a 5-Star Male Electro character and a 5-Star Female Geo character joining the roster in Version 6.0. Players will be able to find out more about them in July 2025, as marketing forNod-Krai inGenshin Impactis expected to ramp up in the coming weeks. Version 5.8 is set to launch on June 02, 2025.
