When first entering the Spring Highlands inRune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, you’ll probably come across a little boy named Croakie who’s got a bit of an obsession with frog statues. InRune Factory: Guardians of Azuma’s Frog Statue Fanatic quest, Croakie wants you to track down a whopping204 statuesacross Azuma, with the promise of a reward each time you tell him about the ones you’ve found. Activating frog statues also unlocks specific crafting or cooking recipes, with some even necessary to complete other quests in the game, likeRoll, Roll, Roll Your Onigiri.
Although their locations are marked on the game’s maps with green frog icons, finding all the frog statues inRune Factory: Guardians of Azumaisn’t as simple as it might initially seem. Many more are locked behind story progression, unlocking certain Sacred Treasures, obtaining more map areas, and even romance. Although you might want to tick off frog statues you find along the way, it’s perhaps best attempted as apost-game activityif you want to get every frog statue and obtain every possible reward.
This guide details the rewards you can get for finding most frog statues throughout the game’s main story, how many frog statues you can find within individual map regions, and tips to track them down and locate more.

How to Start the Frog Statue Fanatic Questline
Frog Statue Fanatic is an Azuma quest you can begin when you’re first able to exitSpring Villageas part ofRune Factory: Guardians of Azuma’s main story, which happens pretty early on in the game. Just outside Spring Village, speak to the boy named Croakie next to the large frog statue to unlock and start the Frog Statue Fanatic quest.
When you find a frog statue on the map, interact with it to perform theDance of Bonds, which gives you at least one recipe as a reward — these will typically be a cooking or crafting recipe. However, you get the main quest rewards whentelling Croakie how many frog statues you’ve found, with different rewards to get at each of his milestones.

Frog Statue Rewards
Croakie gives you the first set of rewards once you’ve found and reported five frog statues, with 24 to locate in Spring Village overall. However, there are many more frog statues to discover as you progress through the story and its many side activities. If you’re struggling to reach a specific frog statue on the map, it may be that you need to unlock anotherSacred Treasurefirst, such as theSacred Parasol, which can help you travel to various isolated or remote islands on parts of the map. Some map areas also require you to use other Sacred Treasures unlocked through story progression, such as theSacred StaffandSacred Mask.
