As reported by GamesRadar, one of Hypixel Studios' original founders may now be looking to buy back in onHytale. Founder Simon Collins-Laflamme recently shared that he plans to reach out to Riot Games aboutthe canceledMinecraftcompetitor, intending to make an offer to revive the game. Collins-Laflamme had recently played with the idea of offering $25 million to Riot Games in order to buy back the rights toHytale, though he did say that any buyback could take months to complete. The Hypixel founder also cautioned fans to keep their expectations in check, with the odds of being able to reviveHytalestill low.

Hytale Founder Interested in Buying Canceled Game

The Hypixel founder’s interest in buying back intoHytalewould not be the only big-name developer who has expressed interest in the game following its cancellation.Stardew Valleycreator ConcernedAperecently expressed his potential interest in helping to reviveHytale, after a well-known content creator reached out to the solo developer. ConcernedApe was quick to temper expectations on his own, though, suggesting he would need more information on the project and “why it failed” before buying in.

The interest among developers in keepingHytalealive has been joined by an outpouring of support from fans lamenting the loss ofHytale. A petition recently surfaced on Change.org to keep the game alive, requesting that Hypixel Studios orRiot Games provide a playable build ofHytalefollowing its cancellation. The petition has already amassed more than 1,500 signatures from fans, though neither Hypixel nor Riot Games have officially addressed the fan campaign.Hytale’s story may not be done yet, with several different parties fighting to keep the game alive.
