After being beaten and emotionally abused by her mother, Marina’s desire to bully Shizuka only increases. As Marina is powerless to deal with the situation at home, she abuses Shizuka.

Takopi’s Original Sin also teaches viewers the importance of living in a healthy environment. If Shizuka’s mother had cared for her, she would have gone to school and stopped the bullying. In Marina’s case,if her mother hadn’t pushed all theemotional burden onto her, she might not have been compelled to bully Shizuka.
Finally, it gives an important lesson about how a person has to live with their choices for the rest of their lives. When Takopi’s camera was working, he had unlimited chances to change the future.
