As players got a look at the armor rewardsbased heavily onFinal Fantasy 11, some keen-eyed fans noticed that a new hairstyle was hidden among the new items. On the officialFinal Fantasy 14subreddit, a Reddit user named Pinkbunnies66 asked if a new hairstyle was included in the Patch 7.3 previews by accident. In response, other users claimed the hairstyle was one of the winning entries from the 2023 hairstyle design contest, namely the third entry featured by Square Enix. The medium-length hairstyle was featured on a female miqo’te character model, who sported armor from the San d’Oria alliance raid. The highlight channel in the aforementioned hairstyle would be on the inside of the hair, giving users a new way to customize their characters.
Final Fantasy 14’s 7.3 Previews Accidentally Revealed Potential New Hairstyle
Although the miqo’te character model was shown wearing bows, Pinkbunnies66 stated that the bows were part of the San d’Oria armor set instead. If the latest hairstyle rumor is proven true, it would not be the first time thatDawntrailhas added winning entries from the 2023 design contest. Patch 7.15 introduced ahairstyle called A Half Times Twofrom the pool of winning entries. A Half Times Two is acquired by either exchanging 49 Clouddark Demimateria II, which drops from The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) alliance raid, or purchasing with Gil via the market board.
Given thatFinal Fantasy 14introduces new hairstyles in most major patches, it stands to reason that The Promise of Tomorrow content update could be no different in that regard. However, time will tell if the rumored new hairstyle will be included inDawntrail’s climactic patchand how it will be obtained.
