June was largely an exciting month for fans of the franchise, with developer LEVEL5 rolling out the1.3.0 patch forFantasy Life i. The update introduced a wide range of adjustments, along with a lengthy list of bug fixes. One of the key highlights was a visual enhancement for the Switch 2 version, aimed at improving shadows and reflection effects. However, the patch unintentionally made the game appear oddly blurry, particularly on larger screens.
Now,Fantasy Life ideveloper is pleased to inform its dedicated community thatpatch 1.4.0, released on July 2, fixes theblurry image issue on the Switch 2. The developer has also shared a comparison image showcasing the visual improvements, which has seemingly relieved fans. If the comparison image is accurate, the post-patch visuals look significantly sharper than before. Interestingly, LEVEL5’s CEO had previously stated that the 1.4.0 patch would enhance the visuals beyond their launch state, a goal that now seems to have been achieved.
Before the new update went live, LEVEL5’s CEO shared a post on X, apologizing to the Switch 2 community. The message also reassured fans that the team was working on an urgent fix. The blurry image isn’t the only problem the new patch addresses. Fortunately, it also tackles several other complaints from the fanbase. For instance, it adjusts the vibration strength of the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller. Additionally, it introduces a quality-of-life improvement to the title menu, adding a quick-access option for players to directly purchase theFantasy Life iNintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pass.
Of course, the new patch isn’t exclusive to Switch 2 players; fans on other platforms, too, have plenty of new additions to be excited about. For starters, it expandsFantasy Life i’s area challengeswith new activities like Fishing Touch and Master of God. The update also adds new materials, Shimmering Silk and Shimmering Silk Thread, along with nine new pieces of armor. Fans eager to try out these features won’t have to wait, as the update is already live and available across all platforms.
