At the recent Pokemon Presents event, more exciting details were revealed aboutPokemon Legends: Z-A. Not only were new Mega Evolutions showcased, but the cast ofPokemon Legends: Z-Acontinues to grow with both returning and fresh characters. A few characters have been confirmed for a while now, but after the Pokemon Presents showcase, there are now nine cast members that have been made official.
Asthe wait forPokemon Legends: Z-Acontinues, there’s no telling what other details will come to light in the coming months.Pokemon Legends: Z-Ais right around the corner, but there is still plenty of time for unexpected announcements to be thrown into the spotlight. There’s no way to know before the game’s fall launch, but until then, players can brush up on the current roster of characters confirmed to be part of the story.
Every Character Confirmed for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, So Far
The Player Character
This one’s a given, but they still count as a new character. As is tradition inPokemongames, players will get to choose between a male or female avatar. Beyond that, there isn’t much known aboutPokemon Legends: Z-A’s player character besides their default version’s apparent affinity for wearing fedoras. Thankfully, the game has teased a surprising amount of customization options for aPokemontitle, so for those who aren’t fond of fedoras, the hat can be tossed to the curb.Protagonists inPokemongamesare often blank slates, so it’s likely that this fresh chapter will continue that long-standing trend.
Urbain/Taunie
The sex a player chooses for the main character will determine whether one runs into Urbain or Taunie. They work and live at Hotel Z and are the player character’s main friend within the story. According to the game’s official website, “They may come on strong at times, but they like helping people and Pokemon,” which implies a bold personality.ThePokemonfranchiseis no stranger to introducing strong sidekicks, so it will be interesting to see how Urbain and Taunie fit into that mold.
Pokemon Legends: Z-Acomes out on October 16 for both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.
AZ and Eternal Flower Floette
One interesting duoset to return inPokemon Legends: Z-Ais AZ and his Pokemon companion, Eternal Flower Floette. The former now runs Hotel Z, while the latter still differs in appearance compared to others of her species. The two are said to be around 3,000 years old.
AZ stands at a whopping 9 feet tall.
Jett, Vinnie, and Corbeau
This trio of fresh faces are some of the most mysterious characters promised to appear inPokemon Legends: Z-A. Jett serves as the CEO of Quasartico Inc. This company is in charge of urban redevelopment plans that are reshaping Lumiose City in a way that’s intended to allow humans and Pokemon to live together in harmony. Vinnie is Jett’s large-stature, sunglasses-wearing secretary who holds a stern expression. Last, but not least, of this new trio of characters is Corbeau. It’s already been made clear thatCorbeau will be an antagonistwithin the story, so it will be interesting to learn about his motives.
Corbeau specializes in Poison-type Pokemon.
Emma and Mable
These two are also returning names fromX and Y. Those who playedX and Ywill remember Emma as the orphan who Looker takes under her wing and Mable as a member of Team Flare, the game’s main villain group. Now, Emma has her own detective agency, whileMable has seemingly had a change of heartand now works as a Professor. Players will be able to assist both in side missions in order to gain rewards.
