Battlestate Games has releasedEscape from Tarkov’s June update, bringing a greatly improved sound system, better AI behavior, and several quality-of-life changes. With patch 0.16.7.0 now available, the multiplayer tactical shooterEscape from Tarkovcontinues to evolve with its brutal gameplay set in the war-torn Norvinsk region of northwestern Russia.
InEscape from Tarkov, players control PMCs from either the USEC or BEAR groups, fighting enemies and gathering valuable gear during dangerous raids to make it out alive. The game entered closed beta in 2017 and has since grown significantly, largely influenced by player feedback. One recent update in May, for example, adjusted the spawn rate of a keyEscape from Tarkovboss, a change that most players reacted positively to.
Escape from Tarkov’s newest update, patch 0.16.7.0, has now arrived. With this update, the season has changed to summer, and fixes have been implemented to optimize performance in various parts ofEscape from Tarkov’s Reserve map. The game’s audio engine has undergone significant expansion, and players are invited to give feedback on the changes. Improvements include more natural sound penetration through walls, stairs, bushes, rocks, vehicles, and other obstacles, as well as better sound blocking for doors and windows. Other changes fix previously reported sound problems, such as lowering the noise from bushes and fixing missing sound effects in The Lab.
AI behavior inEscape from Tarkovhas also been improved. Bots now use doors more naturally and move better on rough ground, with the developers fixing strange movement and weapon alignment bugs. PMC bots are also less likely to enterEscape from Tarkov’s bossspawn areas at the start of raids, reducing the chance of more chaotic fights. Several fixes were made to stop The Goons from showing up more than once in PvE and situations in which AI characters appeared wrongly or acted oddly in different locations.
For quality-of-life improvements, thisEscape from Tarkovpatch adds several helpful features. Players can now search their stash more easily by name or category, and keybindings allow quick checks of raid timers. Automatic currency exchange during purchases, task pinning, and clear warnings before starting a raid with task items help make gameplay smoother. Visual clarity has been improved with updates to optical and thermal sights, along with rebalanced scope sensitivity and zoom adjustments.
Many long-standingEscapes from Tarkovbugs have also been fixed, including visual problems on maps like Customs and Reserve, animation glitches, sound timing issues, and wrong inventory behavior. In particular, several Hideout-relatedproblems inEscape from Tarkov’s PvEand skill progression bugs have been fixed, along with UI issues and incorrect damage detection.
